If you are raising 4 Black boys, then you definitely see the spectrum of humanity unfolding before your very eyes

I will say, in certain segments of our community, it’s gotten a lot better, but there are places in the Black community that still feel like “sundown towns”

I wouldn’t want you to misunderstand what I’m trying to convey. You don’t, won’t, can’t see the world through a Black gay man’s eyes, so you may not see or experience what we see. You may think it doesn’t exist because you don’t observe it in your life, simply because it’s not directed at you.

It’s definitely not an attempt to villainize anyone, it’s just my real life experience. And to claim vilification is to discount said experience.

You know how as a Black man you see racism right in your face and the wyppo around you are like, what are you talking about, I don’t see it? When you experience racism AND homophobia ALL the time, you know exactly where it comes from while outsiders may not be as attuned as you are to it.

I believe that’s toxic masculinity. All those behaviors that are “toxic” or harmful to your own wellbeing in the name of preserving your machismo. It’s definitely based in homophobia, but that too is reinforced by some women’s expectations of masculinity.

Glad to have the discourse. Your answer is a little like when wyppo say, “I don’t see color, I thought we were past that.” The most homophobic treatment I’ve ever experienced has come from Black women. Definitely not all, because they show the most love too, but why is there this dichotomy?

“Studies show” what was already predicted back in 1996
they’re going to start listening to science eventually

In the end, it will be the only answer, but right now “they” are too white to fight. When wyppo protests look like Black Lives Matter protests, then we might start to be getting somewhere.

She looks so good! All I needed was for her to blend a little scat in the beginning part and I’d be on the floor!
