đź’Ą Mark Rutte has praised Trump for making Europe "pay in a BIG way, as they should" on defence spending, adding in a private text message: "it will be your win" Trump posted the private message from the Nato secgen on social media as he travelled to the alliance's summit on Tues on.ft.com/445HX1i

“The summit rests on what Trump decides,” said one of the officials. “We are all just sat here waiting for him to tell us if he will defend Europe.” @henryjfoy.ft.com and Steff Chávez @financialtimes.com on.ft.com/46954L5

Laughing face emojis from a White House account quoting Trump about him “probably” meeting with Zelensky, whose country is being bombed every day by Russia and is in need of US help, which is meant to be its biggest backer. In the past 24 hours, two massive attacks killed 25 people and injured 100s.

Trump tells reporters on Air Force One he'll "probably" meet Zelensky tomorrow at the NATO summit. People close to the Ukrainian President tell me as well that they are hoping a meeting will take place, preferably one-on-one, which is how Zelensky believes he is best able to communicate with Trump.

Death toll from Russia's missile and drone attack overnight is now at least 6 people in Kyiv and one south of the capital in Bila Tserkva, says President Zelensky. He's visiting London today to discuss Ukraine's defense, "which must become the foundation of a much stronger collective security."

Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia attacked Kyiv and other cities overnight with 352 Iranian designed Shahed-type drones and decoys; 11 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles; and 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles. Air defenses took down 354 of the combined 368 missiles and drones.

Another sleepless night, as Russia once again launched a massive air attack on multiple Ukrainian cities. Here in Kyiv, at least 6 people were killed in an apartment building. Explosions from ballistic missiles and drones rocked the city for hours on end, forcing many people into bomb shelters.

Trump announced the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities in a post on social media tonight.

She’s running. Former US ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink — who resigned in protest of Trump’s policy of putting pressure on Kyiv instead of Moscow to end Russia’s war — formally announces her run to challenge Rep. Tom Barrett for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District seat.

Death toll from Russia’s missile and drone attack overnight on Monday-Tuesday has climbed to at least 30 people killed, 188 injured, says the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. On Kyiv, 28 killed, 134 injured; 23 victims killed in the strike on a nine-story building in Solomyansky district alone.

"Trump's message is plain. If you commit violence in his cause, he will have your back...America in 2025 is making political murder easier. This is a choice, not fate." My column. www.ft.com/content/e172...

Trump said again he would not impose new sanctions on Russia over its escalating war in Ukraine despite mounting pressure from G7 allies and members of Congress to do so. Trump and Zelensky are expected to meet on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Russia is bombing Kyiv. on.ft.com/3HL1ZqI

The awkward start to this year’s summit is being dominated by war in the Middle East, trade tensions and Washington’s inability to broker a peace deal in Ukraine https://on.ft.com/3ZzSO2f

Russia was kicked out of the G8 in March 2014 exactly BECAUSE it launched its war in Ukraine by invading and forcibly annexing Crimea.

We were told the mineral deal would deter Russia from targeting U.S. businesses - something supposedly beneficial for both the U.S. and Ukraine. So what happened to that assumption? It seems Russia doesn't care. No one takes tough talk seriously when it's never backed by action.

A building used by Boeing in Kyiv was badly damaged in a recent large-scale Russian air attack, in what appeared to be a deliberate strike on the US aerospace company, according to six people familiar with the matter and photographs seen by @financialtimes.com. on.ft.com/3TnpFDN

8 years ago I was roaming around many of my favorite places in eastern Ukraine, visiting friends: Mariinka, Avdiivka, Lysychansk and Shyrokyne. Every place in these photos is now completely destroyed, razed to rubble and occupied by the Russian army. These are photos of life that no longer exists.

Russia launched a mass air attack on Kyiv for the third night in four days. Ukraine’s air force said Russia had fired 315 kamikaze drones, two ballistic missiles and five cruise missiles towards Ukraine, with Kyiv as the main target. @fabricedeprez.bsky.social on.ft.com/45dMdhH

Breaking news: The sell-off erased $153bn from Tesla’s value, the biggest one-day drop in the electric-car company’s market capitalisation on record, and comes as Donald Trump threatens he will terminate US government contracts with Musk’s companies. www.ft.com/content/a14f...

Ukrainians watching this big beautiful beef unfold:⚡️ Zelensky promised to end the war between Trump and Musk within 24 hours.

No, they don’t call them “turrets” or “little towers.” They are Ukraine’s golden cupolas and while Russia has indeed destroyed many of them, many still exist. And Trump would see them himself if he bothered to come to Kyiv. I’m sure he could arrange a visit to St Michael’s or St. Sophia’s.
