The protest are nonviolent. Until law enforcement shows up. Then it's tear gas, rubber bullets, excessive police force and news outlets talking about how the protest mysteriously turned violent.

The most striking thing about the LA protests is how many people just dropped everything to show up and yell at federal agents. There are people in suits, and carrying dogs, and wearing flip flops or bike helmets. These are not people who planned to do this today. But there they are.

I sent Gov. Josh Shapiro and the PA AG an email months ago asking how they would respond to the Fed violating PA residents' civil rights and got back a response saying they do not give out legal advice. I do not think blue state governments are able to conceptualize what is coming.
