This isn’t just another bill. It’s the Project 2025 playbook written into law. This bill abuses budget reconciliation rules to jam through non-budget items, like education authority rollbacks, environmental deregulation, and civil service purges. Read the fine print. Read the bill!

Probably the screw would also prefer one of those magnetized screwdrivers. Unless it prefers to be flung across the garage floor inexplicably due to, probably, some slight inaccuracy in angle and/or pressure. (To each their own?)

WSJ reported the same; the original post here is not factual. This is like the "JD V@nce f*s couches" thing: it *feels* like it could be true, so people keep sharing πŸ˜‘ It'd be accurate to say, "now is no time to be cutting back on climate change disaster response infrastructure; people WILL die"

I do miss "asshat." Unfortunately I think "amuseballs" would show up on the diagram pretty close to "asshat" and the queen would have to forego that term due to its unfortunate connections.

Link as cousin to footnote, rather than link as functional call-to-action ?

In some cases WCAG / ADA compliance makes this easier, b/c you can ask, "if a user skimming this page ONLY for headings and links were to hear this link on my page, will the use and destination be clear?" "Click here" = unacceptable. "Start a tax extension request" = super clear. (and <6 words)

Some sort of honky tonk situation for dinner & then, depending on how much I imbibe, I will read (in order from less to more cronked): (a) Authority by Andrea Long Chu, (b) the (Hugo) longlist anthology #5, (c) sciencenews dot org, or (d) unapologetic trash. πŸ˜„ πŸ₯ƒ

Your calls shows the opposition party they can get a visible win if they push! Your calls can also peel support back from the initiative. In the House we only need 4 votes to tank this. It becomes infinitely more difficult in the Senate, so please, for the love of god, call!! We can do this! πŸ”₯

Or literally anything to do with feminine physical characteristics, present or implied. A short skirt? Porn. Having breasts? Porn. Being curvaceous/heavy? Porn. The sexualization of our entire selves puts us all in this bucket.

Just uninstalled Adobe Reader from personal laptop because AI won't go away and broke "fill & sign" (literally the only thing I use that program for). πŸ’© Work laptop struggles to handle the extra churn, but i don't have admin rights so routine tasks now "just take longer." πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

My car has to have me briefly release + reapply the clutch **before** I can shift to reverse, so this was deeply, deeply unenjoyable. Terror / endorphins helped. πŸ˜‚

How about rolling forward? I learned to drive my manual about 10 years now and I'm great going uphill from a stop, but good lord was I terrified when I parallel parked facing **downhill** and came back to find some idiot had parked an inch from my front bumper.

Pro: the US didn't enter this disaster in the same weakened state many other countries were when fascist dictatorships started. Con: we keep waiting on the fairy tale of US democracy. What would we do differently if we all understood the legislative branch WILL continue to do literally nothing?

I sm so tired of hearing people say "primary them" as a solution. THE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS HAVE ALREADY REALIZED THE PLAN IS "NO MORE ELECTIONS." Most think if they can ride the tiger and "just hang on," they will maybe probably be fine while the rest of us are f*ked. They have already sold us out.

The Stone Road by @trentonomicon.bsky.social was excellent, I loved every minute. It was creepy and visceral with a complex world that felt full of real people with their own stories. The characters don't always know why they make the decisions they do, and the story was tough & sad & 100% engaging.
