Even on a smaller scale, while it's true that many Seattle-ites got rich off Amazon, the company created crazy negative externalities that it left the city to resolve (often; badly, incompletely). And we got Bezos' Balls in return. Meanwhile, our schools, roads, housing are strained to breaking.

Reminds me of Laurence Olivier's (possibly apocryphal) words to Dustin Hoffman in the set of Marathon Man. Hoffman showed up to set after staying up for days to look disheveled for a scene. Olivier: "why don't you try acting?"

Can I just object to certain versions of the Bible? Like, what if I insist that I only believe the original, untranslated Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts?

BUt LibRuls aRE AcTIvIzT JUDgES 🤪 Good lord it makes me long for the "sanity" of '90s. At least words still had meaning and irony was livin' large.

How do they fit in that truck with her tits? Does she have, like, different sizes for different occasions?

Not sure what "Ronald Reagan" is but National is great except for all the crashes.

As a 52 y.o. white man, I can say it's not particularly hard to (checks notes) "not be an asshole".

Srsly. If I wanted to look at pictures of assholes I'd try Pornhub.

It really doesn't take a genius to see that between this and Ukraine (with DPRK the counterpoint) the clear message is "get nukes as fast as possible". But then no one in this administration seems to have even average intelligence so ...

This goes way back. Reagan's Secretary of the Interior believed that the Second Coming was imminent so why bother protecting the environment?

Trump already had the title of "Worst President Ever" in the bag. Now he's grabbed that prize for all time.

Moron. Orange fucking moron.

Second DIA. Worth it for the Diego Rivera mural alone but collection overall is great. Also ... Dearborn for the food. Best falafel and shawarma I've ever had.

Cartel would be more subtle.

True for so many reasons. I think about something like science funding. Let's say a Dem pres says "we're gonna restore science funding". The shit storm that would raise in a GOP-dominated House would ensure that it never happens. Flush MAGA in total or recovery never happens.

Isn't that sorta like the Nazis requiring the Red Cross to notify them of visits to the concentration camps? But ... nah. We're not like that.

The spectacle of Colin Powell, who seemed like a legit decent dude, lying out of his ass at the UN was ... special.

I mean ... maybe? I'm no expert on Iran but there are very few truly unitary states (looking at you, DPRK). Albeit decapitating their leadership is not great in terms of ensuring more measured decisions. Anyway, my point is that a preemptive war on such flimsy grounds is, ah, "counterproductive"

It is absolutely true that they believe they are hiring the absolute best people, largely because they've been surrounded by morons for so long.

Iran. Taiwan. Japan. Korea. Poland. All gonna be nuclear powers soon. Wouldn't shock me if countries like Mexico and Canada decide they At least need a credible threat, as well.

Bumping this because it's relevant. Some people will believe anything that's on TV even when it contradicts their own eyes. Sometimes even when they see it on TV, but then someone else on TV tells them to unsee it.

Getting to the point where I think Mike Johnson has a blow up doll of Trump that he tucks in every night.

At least the WC has history. I really, really wanted to love CWC but they went way too far. And ... Seattle is actually a great soccer town fwiw. A few too many Euro-posers and ManU stans but extremely knowledgeable in general. Just not willing to be ripped off.

Ticket prices are obscene. I'm a huge Sounders fan and I refuse to pay the amount of money they're asking. let alone do that for (admittedly, great) teams that I don't really care about.

Correction. She'll be VERY concerned.
