Loved CNN live airing of Broadway’s, “Good Night and Good Luck” with George Clooney. Turns out legendary journalist Edward Morrow himself dealt with the risk of corporates (Alcoa) in his fight for facts and truth in the days of McCarthyism.

Mark, did you see the Broadway show, “Good Night and Good Luck” with George Clooney? CNN broadcast it live last night. It was powerful with legendary journalist Ed Morrow’s truth telling during McCarthyism. Facts and truth at great personal risk. Great journalism. Not value-less “both-side-ism”

Great way to honor his legacy.

So appreciate the WSJ and its editorial statement today: “… America doesn’t have a king who can rule by decree.”

This is so fabulous. Who would ever have guessed our men and women in robes are really heroes in capes!! God bless them for their integrity, independence, intellect and courage. How about a retired judge for our next President😎

Is there any effort to reconcile the evangelicals supporting the President and the evangelicals and mainline churches who don’t?

Thank you, @wsj.com for your editorials standing against the President’s reckless economic policies. Truth is like gravity.

Any chance the law firms who caved might change their minds? When they signed did they realize Trump expects them to give legal help when he leaves office? Thought this sounded close to bribery…

Thank you. Your thoughts around Passover are inspiring to all of us.

How much I want to be the “spitting’ image of God in Jesus

It's as if Jesus was saying, "Nothing displays the character of God more than when you promote peace and love enemies. When people see you behaving in this way, they'll exclaim, 'Why, you look just like your Father in heaven! You're the spittin' image—the spirit and image—of God.'"

Sen. Sanders, can you meet with El Salvador Pres. Bukele during his visit to DC and ask for his immediate release? Don’t wait for the Trump Administration to do it. It’s hard to believe his life is not in danger. Americans doing business with Salvador should do the same.

Better question: how long can America survive Speaker Mike Johnson.

Sometimes I teach Sunday School to kids at my church. The lesson about Jesus and the money changers in the Temple was challenging. The Paula White report reminds me of it. Best analysis of Jesus’ actions that day is in “Fight Like Jesus” by Porterfield. Would love a kid’s version of that lesson!

Mystifies me as when I worked on Capitol Hill we were always told you can’t bind a future Congress. Congress can reverse course any time.

Worked on Capitol Hill and yes, a veto can be overridden by a supermajority vote of 2/3 of each Chamber.

You are so right. Those who enable him now bear the greatest responsibility for his deeds, especially those who wear their Christian faith on their sleeve.

Thank you, WSJ, for speaking the truth: “The Trump Administration’s never-back-down style is becoming a governance problem with overtones of cruelty.”

Amen. In his memory, may we all take to the streets tomorrow, April 5th, to speak up for for justice!

Thank you for the reminder MLK’s courage and prophetic voice. I am thinking of him as I go to the April 5th protest tomorrow in Washington.

Is Sojourners participating in the nationwide April 5th protests? As a Christian I’d love to join others!

Today I am sharing with kids in Sunday School about Palm Sunday and so wishing I could bring this book to their level. Would LOVE a junior version of your book!

Love your book, “Fight Like Jesus”! My church (Daniel’s Run Peace Church) is reading it for Lent. I keep saying to myself, “I didn’t know that!” - over and over. But I am boycotting Amazon. I went back to Barnes & Noble and in the process rediscovered the lost joy of actually being in a bookstore!

Without due process. @markwarner.bsky.social please demand the names and cases of all those sent illegally to El Salvador. Demand those illegally sent to Louisiana be returned to the States where they were arrested.

Evil. Do you know who is getting all the names and cases of the 261 (?) deportees? They have names and families.
