Absolutely beautiful! Brought tears to my eyes.

They drank the Kool-aid and now they are zombies.

Sadly, I think you are correct. The MAGA movement is not new; it just has a new name and has gained the spotlight. It has been an insidious undercurrent for decades.

I am hoping Peltola will run, but then, maybe she would be better for us to be back in D.C.? Which office will she have the best chance at: Governor or Senator? Either way, I will do everything I can to campaign for her. She was excellent!

Any idea who is coming up in the ranks to replace him?
comment in response to post
I believe he is up for reelection next year. We need to vote him out!

Oh, sorry! It was my attempt at being sarcastic. I was taking a stab at Fox News, which is a prime source of right wing opinion. Under our Constitution, everyone's right to free speech is protected, therefore, even Fox News is allowed to exist, even if its wrong (in my opinion!).

But they are people; that is what is so horrifying. They are our neighbors and coworkers. Maybe even our relatives. They are human beings who have been brain washed and indoctrinated. This is what we are up against.

Simple: Stop Fox News! Oh, but wait, this is the U.S.A. where free speech is protected.

This photo says it all; I can almost hear the purring!

I am still trying to figure out how to post stuff on Bluesky. Not sure why I couldn't type my message on the congress link post! Frustrating!

Here is a link to the condensed version of the not so beautiful bill. Scroll down to Section 70302. A short few sentences packs a lot of power! This bill can not go through! Call or email your senators!
comment in response to post
If you are referring to Section 70302 of the bill, it is real. It will weaken the judiciary branch's checks and balances. Check out an article in thedailybeast.com 5/23/25 by Sarah Ewall-Wice, or better yet, go to the bill itself and call your Senators!

Talk to her about fighting for women's right to vote, slavery, Nazi Germany. It probably feels like ancient history to her, but she needs to understand this may be her future. She is voting age. We need this next generation to start caring or all the luxuries of living in a democracy will go away.

Bode will be cheering you on from Heaven!

This is a red flag warning! Everyone needs to call and or write to our senators. Tell them to vote NO on this bill. They must not vote for a bill that includes diminishing the judiciary's power to hold elected officials accountable!

I remember that! I also remember how shocked and disgusted people were by it. What happened? How did trump still get so powerful?

Actions speak louder than words: our own president has made a mockery of the Ten Commandments!

I have been to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery. Our choir sang the Star Spangled Banner in front of the rows of white crosses. I cried the entire time. On the road to the beach every house flew two flags: American and French. That's what it means to be an ally.

Call your senators! Call now, call every day! Tell them NO!
comment in response to post
We need to keep them accountable, no matter how uncomfortable it gets!

Why not celebrate him both days!!!

I really enjoy your poetry, but I did have to google "stygian stone". Thanks for the new outlook!

Thank you for the reminder. I am not normally a hateful, snarky person, but have found myself devolving along with so many during this political turmoil. I actually deleted a post yesterday after thinking about it because it was so unkind. We can not become what we are fighting against!

Absolutely beautiful words.

In my opinion, Barack Obama will be the greatest president we ever had in my life time. I can only hope for a future when we see someone that comes close to him be our president again.

I was devastated when she lost. I can only imagine how that felt to her. Hilary Clinton laid low a long time after too. I just hope for a miracle that Harris isn't done💙

How quickly we forget our history! Or maybe it has been erased? It was not that long ago that most of the Western U.S. WAS Mexico!
comment in response to post
Thank you for saying that. Kamala Harris does deserve a break. Perhaps she is resting up for her next big move!

Creepy!!! Ewww!

There must be a way to protect the Afghan allies from being sent back! Who is fighting for them? Something similar happened in WWII? I believe they were Polish pilots working with the English. When they were sent back to Poland most of them were executed. Any history experts out there to fact check?

It teaches wildlife to trust humans, which is generally not a good thing!

Very cool!

We missed a great opportunity when Harris lost...what a different world we would be in right now. For my own sanity, I can't dwell on what could have/might have been. It is tragic but now we own it. What happens next will determine our future.

I cancelled my Amazon account over a month ago and have adapted. It is worth going without certain things than to continue supporting a billionaire trumper. There is life after Amazon! Cancelled Facebook too!

What can we do to stop this insanity? This is alarming!

Thank you for posting this! A remarkable story of hardship and success. This is what our country should be focusing on now, not denying anything bad in our history, like slavery, ever happened!

I am trying!!!

Well, our country elected a sex-offender for president. It has made me lose faith in people. Maybe I have just been naive all these years.

And the women who encourage them to behave like that!

I'll bet the bees are loving them too. I also live in Alaska and it is so difficult sometimes, especially for gardeners!

Europe, the U.K., and Ireland are light years ahead of the U.S. as far as renewable energy, trash recycling and reducing waste and pollution. Why are we so stuck?! One of the wealthiest countries on the planet and we can't manage to figure it out!

My guess is that he is mentally incompetent and his people are able to feed him what they think he wants to hear so that he can regurgitate some of it later.

Chilling. This is all going according to trump's plan and project 2025. I don't know how to stop it except to keep up the pressure on our elected officials and show up at every single protest rally that I can. They can't arrest us all.
