My daughter’s state special school is 40% over PAN. Surely this situation will only get worse if they get rid of ehcps for children educated in mainstream schools. It’s all feeling very ill thought out.

I love those plates! M&S finest.

It was a brilliant (if tense) match. Really hope it was a memorable day for him!

As someone who watched both strictly and Eurovision, I love this.

Beautiful day to play cricket!

I have been watering the plants every evening. That’s usually what happens in July. Very ominous.

And so spoil it for everyone else because why keep on using it if you just end up facing constant abuse.

Social media does always seem to get spoiled whatever format it is. It’s sad because when it is discussion and learning from others, it’s really great.

This is glorious!

The Health part of the EHCP has never been effective and neither has the social care section. Again both areas need significant investment and I can’t see that happening.

What would you do? To improve identification in first instance? How do you improve provision without investment into camhs and other nhs services?

Isn’t this what the safety valve is trying to do? By the back door? I can’t see how schools can be more inclusive without a significant investment of funding and personnel. No sign either will be forthcoming.

Interesting. It’s good to see him in whites again though.

Do you know why Roy is playing CC cricket? Has he got a temporary contract?

He’s gorgeous. I have always wanted to have a cat but can’t because my mum is heavily allergic. He looks so fluffy!!

Looking forward to hearing how it goes!

My daughter was diagnosed after genome testing with a syndrome so rare there are only 200 cases worldwide. She needs state support to go to school and to get to school. She’s not a victim and being in the right provision with the support she needs ensures she can be as independent as possible.

Great to see Sophie Ecclestone as one of the five!

Oh dear. It’s not been the best start to the season….

When you have the time and right mindset (it is very hard to read at times) then it’s worth it. I also thought seven men of spandau was interesting too. It made me think about what the allies were trying to do with the trials and subsequent detentions. Quite diff than what we would do now.

Although it’s also important to remember how much more information we have now even than in the nineties when she wrote her book.

I liked Sereny but felt he charmed her.

Some justice I suppose. But when you read the biography that doesn’t feel enough.

Agreed. He should have hanged after Nuremberg (and I don’t usually advocate the death penalty). The fact Sauckel was hanged and Speer wasn’t has always bemused me.

It felt like he came out of Spandau with a reputation as the “good German”. That’s been undone since his death. The biography by Martin Kitchen was particularly strong in linking him to Nazi atrocities.

Good. I saw my brother try and train through an injury to run a marathon a few years ago and it didn’t end well. It made me realise how fragile a body (especially knees, hips etc) can be.

I was thinking today when I read about the earthquake in Myanmar that they may be affected by the reduction in aid. Best of luck and I will make a donation but please don’t risk a serious injury. I understand the marathon training can be quite addictive and hard to stop even if you are injured.

The big worry at the moment is that the government is cutting public spending which has to affect education and schools so likely to make the situation worse.
