youtu.be/6cvat2fBx48?... A good technical review of situation. The part about the danger of remote operation with communication lag was new to me.

My father was an organic chem researcher for 40+ years, who operated almost exclusively using NSF grants. He seriously benefitted the oil industry with exhaustive books like "Mechanisms of Elimination Reactions". DOGE has been cancelling all new grants, including the Division of Chemistry AFAIK. WTF

aaaand, the administration backs off on tariffs on cellphones... they are clearly chickening out after wrecking the economy... a bit too late given bonds and consumer confidence already tanked

When is Kid Rock's run at the Kennedy Center going to happen?

I absolutely agree that the statistics will support that automated driving is safer. But the recent incident in SF is just the tip. Wait until a family of 4 dies in one - the stats will go out the window for many people.

Bank of America and various hedge fund managers include future potential revenue of robotaxi in their valuation models. So clearly many people do.

It was not an error! Get the headline right please. The Trump admin is intentionally using non approved communications channels to avoid the Federal Records Act.

Even worse than use of Signal is that Signal would only be available on non-secure (and likely personal) devices. They were war planning on totally hackable devices, regardless of journalist or Signal.

I wish people would focus more on the fact that Signal is only available on nonsecure devices/computers. They were conducting war planning on personal cell phones and computers. Who cares that they got someone accidentally added - nothing they were doing was secure, with or without the journalist.

tarriff fetish has never been about helping manufacturing in US. It is about extorting personal favors in exchange for lifting tariffs either for individual businesses, classes of businesses (ex. auto imports), or countries as a whole.

But he went through a vetting process, right?

My suggestion. Wait until prices go up. In the meantime, make signs with comoddity items on them (eggs, gas, etc.). Fill out the before and after prices at a opportune time. Post your sign somewhere, or carry peacefully.

Agreed - peaceful is fine (and that Portland is different). But all it takes is a few destructive, chaotic incidences on the news and everyone will focus on those.

I happen to believe this is a terrible idea, and Im 100% against the current administration. I live in Portland, and know how protests just wind up pissing off the population at large. You will have less support at the end of this.

My guess is that Meta can do whatever they stated in the agreed upon policy when said person signed up for Meta service. Dunno, I ditched my FB 10 years ago because apparently their policy allowed selling my data to a known criminal org in the UK.

He's also assembling the brownnosers.

Favors in international policy for those who contribute to Trump Inc. and tariff exceptions to domestic companies that do the same. Fill the swamp.
