The same when they complain about stripping Confederate names from our military bases and Navy ships. Confederates were traitors who fought against the United States military. They took up arms to destroy the U.S., not defend it. They are not—and never will be—veterans of the U.S. military. Period.

I know people are calling Trump dumb here but I think this is a rare case where he's not just being ignorant. He's a longtime musical theater guy. He knows who the good guy is supposed to be. He identifies with the bad guy but he also knows that if he admits that it will be bad press.
