Thanks, Dr Nick! At least there were 5hrs of practice and incremental level increases b/w the pythons and brown snakes πŸ˜œπŸ˜…. It’s not for the faint-hearted though, for sure!

Your support means so very much to me, thank you πŸ™ πŸ€—. Our precious and rapidly declining Palm Cockatoos certainly need all the support they can get, especially re good fire management! #PalmCockatooProject

Thank you for writing & publishing this important Letter in Science. I hope it adds the additional pressure required to move the political dial in the right direction. And thank u for highlighting the endangered Palm Cockatoo, of which there are less than 2500 estimated left πŸ˜³πŸ˜”. #PalmCockatooProject

Such a shame, and completely unnecessary. You lose out on this wildlife improving your day (mental wellbeing) because they misunderstood the facts about snakes and snake relocation. As part of #SnakeWeek2025, i am collecting 30s selfie video accounts of stories like these. If interested, pls DM me.

Agreed. Another pillar in a multi-pronged approach to reaching a palatable solution for the environment is to protect more land from being cleared, giving the landscape (and some species) more resilience to such stochastic events.

What a perfectly healthy, nourishing, and fulfilling meal, I’m sure. Lucky kid- hope he expressed his gratitude to you!

Unfortunately, with the AUS gov’t’s complete insufficient funding for nature, I think this is a tantalising option for now. There are better ways, but our declining biodiversity doesn’t have time to wait for politicians to realise/act on what the majority of Australians actually want re nature.

If anyone in Australia wants a snake as a pet (many do- they r excellent pets in many ways), this is how they get them. It is illegal to take wild ones, not to mention often full of parasites.

I also noted that error and already reported it and they’ve already changed it, so all good.
