Weird article. Yes, the movie could be more explicit on sex workers politics, but that's not what's it trying to be about! The themes are class & anora's emotional arc, and her being a sex worker is central to both. I personally love Sean Baker's movies, but even if you'd don't, that's a weird take

Except he didn't do those things? You can be critical of the colonialism of the territories he explored following his death, but Cook himself wasn't a monster. One reason he's such a big legacy is bc he had a progressive approach to both navigation science and approaching natives
