When I was a postdoc people used to talk about the “brain drain” of our brightest scientists moving to the US. Now there is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the whole of Europe to put that into reverse…IF we fund science properly.

Exactly! A cell membrane is a barrier. Traumatic brain injury is a risk factor for neurodegenerative disorders. Kahneman’s Nobel Prize was for work on cognitive biases that transformed economics. And just as well we’re not in the other place or this post would be taken out too.
