I loved the Wizardry manual, and the sense of humour it had. It set the mood for the original game. I think the Japanese franchise is much more Serious Business.

He never got Holyfield, though.

Yeah, I remember that instant replay feature as well.
As a kid, I didn't care much about it one way or another, but in the era of social media, I immensely appreciate Dynamix and LucasArts making that standard in their sims.

I assume the "tape" light refers to a cut recording feature, like what X-Wing and SWOTL had?

Happy birthday!!!! Thank you for The Edge of Midnight! I recommend it wholeheartedly to all my Trekkie friends all the time. It has the kind of immense detail and lore that I love in the Star Trek universe.
I'm especially excited for the film era of EOM stories.

My ADHD brain is super picky on RPG games in general, but I've grown to love the first couple of King's Field games (including the 1994 Japanese one). I like the action emphasis they had, and the simple but cool art style.

They love to call us NPCs, and yet, Elon's dialogue tree says the same thing over and over.

The killing machines stop once the Russians leave. Quit shifting the blame away from them.

Mine was probably the OJ trial, followed by Princess Diana's sudden death. I also remember the '98 Nagano Olympics, too.

But what about him and his lie detector friend? They'd have a field day at least. ;)

I remember that campaign! I think TV Tropes pointed out that it wasn't coincidental that one side started with D, the other with R. :P
And yeah, that sounds about right, even without fear of a battle station.

Carpenter Brut apparently also did a super cool remix of a track from Scanners, set here to some old Japanese Self Defense Force footage. Apparently, Brut is go-to background music for old Cold War footage? :P

What little I've heard of Carpenter Brut, I absolutely adore! They're on my workout playlist. I found them through a Desert Storm cut that somebody made, with their track Hairspray Hurricane: youtu.be/ILB-N0V1LvA?...

I'd say it's like watching Duras vs. Gowron, but at least one of those houses had honour. This, on the other hand....

I love that set, too! I love the stark and red colour it has, especially the red-black combo in the Winner's Circle.
I also love the classic $10,000 Pyramid set (especially the electric digits), and even moreso the opening theme.
