Co-op teaching people Maths? I once saw a deal at Asda where the tins of tomatoes were more expensive with the multi-tin price deal than the single tin price. Had to make sure multi-tin deal wasn’t auto applied at the till.

Since we started doing β€œno mow May” a couple of years ago we now routinely get between 40-80 pyramidal orchids daisies and scabious where our mowed lawn used to be. It is lovely.

I’ve had a seven day streak (longest ever for me I think) so clearly something weird is happening when my connections are theirs. πŸ™„πŸ€£

I’ll be honest- I watch many of the free livestreams but I wouldn’t pay for them. I dip in and out of them and I rarely get to see the whole thing so wouldn’t pay per game. At the right price, I might pay one annual subscription for all (and only) women’s games.

🀣 ok, you don’t have to have coffee every night…nights out/nice restaurants only is acceptable. Maybe you could be in the Horlicks before bed crowd on normal evenings.

Tea with breakfast, coffee at elevens, tea at 4:00 and coffee after dinner.
comment in response to post
But 4:00 is tea-in certain circles anyway (tea can also mean the evening meal for some people, not just cake, scones, sandwiches, and tea).
comment in response to post
Hell, yeah. Coffee and a biccie everyday at 11:00.

”…as β€œturning our students into communists and terrorists and sympathisers of many, many different dimensions”. Another example of American parochialism and exceptionalism by POTUS. IMO, a liberal arts education frees the mind. Go Harvard.

How dare you suggest that people might have amended their views or even that they can have moderate views? Are you implying we CAN be pragmatic and not just incensed all the time?

β€œFor Bryce, the need to grow the game should not be seen as purely altruistic, but rather an opportunity to help cricket become a successful sport more widely: "We don't want it to just be India, Australia and England….”” Makes sense to me.

Do the Swift profiles in the window attract them or merely stop them banging into the windows? We’ve got the swift boxes but no swifts yet, meanwhile sparrows checking out the boxes.

True…so many of the reasons for migration are to do with climate change and international politics caused by the West. Idk but I doubt people are willing to gamble their lives by migrating just to scrounge benefits.

I had 18 months of cancer treatment, including hospitalisation for a couple of weeks, and saw this first hand. Almost all of the support staff and some of the carers/medical staff were immigrants who worked hard to treat us well. My best cancer nurse was from the Philippines.

β€œIt’s a choice for the US Government at this point,” said Matteson... β€œDo you want to import your food or do you want to import your labor?”- This seems to be the existential crisis for America generally be it agriculture, construction, or elder care. Who is going to do the tough jobs?

It is shocking the numbers of people and countries that seem to be actively trying to destroy the peace we’ve had since WWII. It hasn’t been perfect-with on going conflicts in many places for many people, but it has been a damn sight better than the alternative.
