Cheers. If we go down the route of a pacey left back, allowing Gakpo/Diaz to drift centrally ahead of Wirtz, it would allow us to keep the width, especially if we also brought in Frimpong for the right and Salah cutting inside.

You think Wirtz could play the false nine position?

Yeah, a break from reality. I don’t know if you have played Everyone’s Gone to the Rapture, but it’s set in Shropshire I think, with the English village and countryside modelled superbly. Cracking soundtrack as well.

One of the reasons I love Everyone's Gone to the Rapture is the quality graphics and roaming around the town and countryside.

Has a knack at being in the right place, at the right time, when the ball isin the penalty area. A good trait to have.

I think Diaz has played well as the 9 at times this season and I think Kvara is faster and maybe better suited to it? Would be a cracking signing and hopefully something we can complete.

If Trent leaves on a free in the summer, he can say it wasn't his fault we didn't get a fee. Clear the club would turn down any advances at this stage.

By making a bid for Trent in January, Trent can the say it wasn't his fault Liverpool didn't get any money for him when he leaves in the summer. It is clear we would turn any advances down.

I haven’t watched much of either player but I agree, we do look to be changing our preference for the no9 role. Diaz drops into midfield allowing us to dominate that area as well. He also works the left channel, swapping with Gakpo so must be a nightmare for defenders trying to follow his movement.

We look far more dangerous with Diaz playing as a Firmino lite. I get a feeling we may look to that sort of player rather than a target man type of striker I thought we might go for.

Unbelievable player and strong as an ox. Loved playing the game, even when he was getting kicked all over the place.

I think this news puts to bed the notion we haven’t even made them a contract offer yet or in discussions. I see this as a positive news article and hopefully we can reach agreement before the circus that will surround the players in January.

I thought Gomez would go right back but in fairness to Quansah, Doku did nothing once Quansah came on.

I'm old enough to remember us replacing Rush with Barnes and Beardsley, having already brought his natural replacement in, in Aldridge, after Rush had told the club he wanted to leave the previous season. I doubt you're replacing Salah with just one player.

Yes but I think Alisson will go straight in as Slot stated so in a recent press conference. It has to be said, Keheller doesn’t deserve to lose his place as he’s been solid once again.

Lost my partner nearly five years ago to a blood clot. Meant she died suddenly. As time goes on you quickly learn the important things in life, and one of them isn’t watching football tbh. Agree 100% with more love and less hate. Sorry for your loss.

Domination. I heard the term ‘death by football’ and I can understand the reference. I think players learning to play the right ball forward instead of the quickest ball. Being patient in the build up and not looking to create a chance at the earliest opportunity.

I think under Slot we are seeing the full backs overlap more and I'm not sure Robertson has it in him to do it all game like he used to. Going back up Scotland wouldn't surprise me.

Sorry mate, I hadn’t scrolled down and seen your other posts.

You think Doak has a chance with us mate? Seems to be doing well again on loan.
comment in response to post
Possibly, and maybe Robertson wouldn’t be happy to be backup whereas Tsmikas would. Scanlon looks a prospect but still some way off yet.
comment in response to post
You’d expect Tsmikas to leave then and quite possibly Beck.

Advantage with Inacio is he covers the left centre back role that we don’t currently have a natural back for. I wonder if he has it in his game to overlap as a full back, but that’s where good coaching comes in, if he has the raw ingredients.

Even if you were foolish to ignore Trent’s footballing ability, what sort of signal would it send out letting an homegrown player like that leave? The flip side of course is the positive impact on him extending his contract.

Cheers mate, edited it. Not sure why it was doing that.

At one time I would have said Ferguson at Brighton but he seems to be regressing. The obvious one is the lad at Sporting Lisbon but would be expensive. I agree, that kind of player in short supply.

I do wonder if we will look at more of a target man number 9 rather than a striker able to work the channels? Maybe a focal point kind of striker who can hold up the ball and feed the other wide players or players breaking from midfield.
