I also have always been surprised at how few people pick up on Steve Bannon having got his start running goldsellers in WoW. They learned in games that breaking the rules is more profitable than sticking to them.

The difference is that people who can't manage their gaming time can get their work/life/gaming routine out of balance and be quite difficult to live with. (I say this as a gamer who used to raid in WoW.) It's like any hobby that risks taking over your life if you don't put boundaries in.
