Medicare Advantage is a scam, just not quite for the reasons that he states. The chief problem is that Medicare itself doesn't cover enough and people have to rely on Medicare Supplement policies (which are not scams) and some people end up paying for Medicare Advantage, which is horrible.

Wow. I would prefer citation rules be based on what's best for lawyers/academics and not on "sour interactions." But, I'm crazy that way.

James Lindsay's unpopularity is only limited by the fact that most people don't know him.

Yep. It's how political disputes should be resolved.

Can it work with Outlook 365 servers (specifically my work email at KU)?

"Nobody Speak" by DJ Shadow is another song that starts way too quickly to be appropriate for the office. 🎶Picture this I'm a bag of dicks Put me to your lips I am sick I will punch a baby bear in his shit 🎶

I really need a separate music database for the office.

Hey @ericswalwell.bsky.social, what are you doing on that list? No one should be thanking ICE for raiding schools, Home Depots, and courthouses.

I have my Criminal Law students analyze that scene to decide whether the marmot/ferret is a "deadly weapon" or "dangerous instrument."

A lot can happen with 1 cut per second. Wonderful.

I reached my suck equilibrium years ago - I'm too old to change.

If you put quotation marks around words, it should be something a person actually said. My post said "limited, mostly indirect" not "no" power.

To be clear, based on some replies, Trump has not, to my knowledge, invoked the Insurrection Act. My goal is simply to inform people about why it was invoked in 1992 (and why a similar rationale wouldn't apply today).
comment in response to post
Nope. Not that I know of.
comment in response to post
Not that I know of. I'm just adding context. It's obviously more lawless if he does all this without invoking the Act.

Trump has no plausible justification for sending in the Marines in this situation. These are mostly peaceful protests with some property damage. Using the military in response is the move of a wannabe dictator, hoping for violent escalation.

No doubt. But he was driving a machine that could do a lot of damage. Surrounding or ramming him could have escalated things. Low-speed chases are the norm in some jurisdictions (the infamous OJ Simpson chase being the most well-known example).
comment in response to post
That's actually good policing! No danger to civilians, no one was hurt, and the police got their arrest. On the whole, high-speed chases cause more harm than good.

You may be right. But, unlike other Democrats, I think he understands how much being handcuffed and jailed could aid his political career. He doesn't have to care about democracy to see that angle.

I have a small bit. Making a spectacle (of himself) might be his best (only?) political skill.

Apologies for deleting the original skeet. Bluesky indicated it was never posted. Odd.

It also has the advantage of being linked to a poorly drafted statute to set up issues of statutory interpretation. www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/...
