Fort Bragg was originally named after Braxton Bragg, a Confederate general, in 1918. In 2023, the base was renamed Fort Liberty due to controversies surrounding memorials to Confederate leaders. With elementary schools ending for summer break it’s going to make ICE migrant raids much more difficult. Kidnapping 9 year olds is much easier when they’re all in the same 3rd grade classroom.
