Speaking from Canada, I wonder if the CBC got in to social media what would happen. Rule one would be you would have to use your real name and identity. Rule two no bots. Communication is great. It’s how do we stop bad actors from capitalizing on manipulation.

Glad you made it. I didn’t know people rode down the forbidden hill. I did a little project on that area and ideas to utalize the space. This seems like an invitation to share.

Anything that sells warm grab and go food. #yyc is really lacking in savoury warm ready to eat quick food.

Imagine if instead of providing passenger ferry service we just made everyone own their own small boats. It would be chaos and totally unsafe on days like today. And obviously not everyone could afford one. Plus imagine the dock space required! But that’s basically what we do with cars 🤣

Yep 414 still exists - Bankview to North Haven but with 60 minute headways it may as well not

Totally. But like Cambrian to Marda Loop? That’s a full scale urban bus route that should just happen.

Under resourced commuter focus. 17 Ave SW is another example - so many buses serve various portions of it and cross it but what the businesses and apartments along it could really benefit from would be a direct frequent bus between Vic Park and Westbrook. Nope.

Like street car suburb service? 🤔

I have lamented this since I was a grad student in 2009… every major through road in that city should be served by 10 minute transit. So much space for it.

Some of them don’t have walkability - big side green spaces, nothing facing them - but lots do especially in inner city. Vancouver’s transit success is not only driverless trains, but also just frequent arterial buses

It’s crazy there is no Calgary Transit bus currently that goes from one end of 14th Street West to the other end.

less parking lots with more walkable neighbourhoods is always the way to go, no matter where you live in north america

Does adding trees make sense if your city is naturally a prairie land scape and expected to face longer droughts in the future? Less parking lots and more natural grasses might be the way to go in some regions?

The biggest joke is assuming another boom increases wages. They have been stagnant for years. More for oil companies, less for Albertans. That's the Alberta way.

Bow river is very low. South side of the river west of Prince’s island was lined with sun bathers and people swimming. I would like to know what the plan is should #yyc ‘s rivers dry up? Let’s make this part of the election conversations.

What if $1 Million was spent making things safer so people can feel comfortable biking from home to this park? Would that lower the pressure on this parking lot?

In Japan when you walk into a show home one of the first things you see is an explanation and window into the wall assembly that the builder chose. Buyers in Japan are then knowledgeable about what they are buying. Doing this in NA would be a good start.

We also then wonder why a generation who is often over housed doesn’t want to leave thier SFH. Density around green spaces should be a win for everyone. Even the trees that would rather be in a forest would benefit from a shadow now and again.
