I'm 2/3rds through and I'm about to drop it. Unless I can get a hard sell that the later books get good and make what's come before worth it.

Don't underestimeate the hatred the American people have for the American people

You guys won't. Americans aren't used to pain. They're used to inflicting it. When you can't have everything, you'll find victims, you'll take what you want, you'll blame the people you want to persecute, you'll hold your noses up from your own stink and the ones in power will remain.

You know the term "It goes without saying"? Well if you say it, then it doesn't. So, it goes without saying.

Why invest in building a factory that'll take 4+ years to plan, build, hire, and implement just so that you can restore and avoid tariffs when in 4 years the guy responsible might be gone and the tariffs might not exist anymore?

The fact that companies have to pay the tariffs at customs before the product is ever sold. These upfront costs might mean companies might need to take higher loans, which means higher interest and payments, if they can afford to do this at all. The tariffs could price small companies out entirely.

Authorities having to keep track of all this and properly apply the tariffs. "Okay, so here's a product from China, manufactured by this company, packaged from this company in this country, falling under this product category but attached to this trade deal, and Trump changed everything again..."

"This product, from this country, from this company, but they use components from this country, packaged in this country using this company, and it just changed again..." I'd quit or kill myself.

Emphasis on "Trying". Imagine being an ambassador right now trying to negotiate with each country when it changes every day. Or being a customs officer going through the list of all of the countries and all of the carve-out seeing what the rates are and if things can pass through or not.

You gotta look for the angle on how whatever he does personally benefits him. He's turned his deportation promise into a prisoners-for-profit scheme. Pardons for campaign donations. Bitcoin deregulation for participation in a no-lose rug pull. He does nothing unless he benefits personally.

Trump won't blink. He's not bluffing. That's why this is so stupid and disastrous. Watch for in a month or two from now, where he claims that revenues from the tariffs are so great (aka taxes from these are so high) that he's going to eliminate the income tax (further enriching himself and the 1%)

At this point, them offloading that debt wouldn't just be spiteful or combative. It would be just smart economics. Exports to the US are going to fall off of a cliff and it will be hard to see how they intend to pay that debt when this all blows up.

That's before tariffs. The rest of the world pays that price. You guys pay more now.

No. He's rolling them together, claiming X is worth 45 billion dollars (33bil + 12bil). He's claiming X is 1 billion more than when he bought it.

So he's trying to claim that Twitter is worth a billion dollars more than what he paid for it?

It will buy them time, meanwhile Mark's going through accelerated reintegration. iMark's going to learn about Gemma. oMark's going to learn about Helly and severed life. They're both going to fall in love with them. It's going to get really messy and I can't wait.

I think Season 3 is going to take place mostly in the Severed floor and mostly from iMark's perspective as they go deeper. They have to start a strike. If they convince the departments to have a sit-in, that'd be devastating to Lumon. That many people can't be disappeared.
comment in response to

iMark saved Gemma, but now he's gotta save Helly. Their situation is desperate and bleak. If either of them leave the Severed floor, they're never coming back. They're dead. So they're both going to try and stay down there for as long as possible. They've got to bury themselves deep down in Lumon.

This is a clip I can feel is going to stay with me for a long while. Schumer is just plain not meeting the moment here. He's making political decisions like this was any other administration when Trump's done playing with the rules.

Good. She deserves to be hated. If you're a just and person, you should only feel hate for her. It's okay to hate and do hateful things and express hateful things to her.

Albertan here. I'm learning how to fly a drone in case of an invasion. I'm looking forward to violently defending myself from rabid American invaders. That's how much we don't want to be American.

Dungeon Crawler Carl, specifically the audiobooks made from the series. Jeff Hays is a master voice actor and narrator. You'll be shocked to find out it's just him and not a full cast.

I think the "Gods" of the dungeons are AI's that are given to operate enhancement zones and the "Ascendacy" represents an AI being given one of those zones, and the Gods in the Nothing are AIs that are given zones with nothing to do, left to only get crazier.
