I wish you guys would come to Arkansas, but as this state is never in contention, I doubt it'll happen.

Yeet Schumer, he's gutless.

I think one of the bigger issues is property management companies buying private homes as rentals. Not only are they not available for purchase, but the rents are astronomical and drive the market up. I think the fix lies elsewhere.

Okay that's cool. Honestly, I just heard this so much from people. While I understand the desire for everybody to have a home that fits them, we must never forget free will and they situations. I do understand that the housing market needs a drastic restructuring.

I think you're overestimating the desire older people to downsize. You're looking at housing as a commodity. To other people it's a home, and generational wealth. It's often the only generational wealth. I'm sure there are some folks like you describe. Most people I know aren't.

You are leaving that open to interpretation by even suggesting that an entire group of people downsize their homes because other people may want them. Do you not see the slippery slope? It's all very distasteful.

Because it's theirs and they can do whatever the hell they want with it. Hope that helps.

I always refer to it as the Mississippi of Canada but actually any Southern red state will do.

My lovely Canadian girlfriend is amused and horrified by Trump's repeated calls to Annex Canada. She said some people in the middle of the country might be in favor of that, but most of Canada has no interest in becoming like us. Why would they?

Billionaires can afford to treat their children's cancer without government help. They can afford the best insurance and the best medical care. The people in charge literally do not care if your children die. By gun or neglect.

That is true. But we can not separate race and gender from that struggle. By merely limiting it to class warfare, you discount other people's experiences. Not all of us have the same experience of capitalism. The differences need to be embraced and carried into the fight.

My girlfriend teaches at a university in Ontario. We've been together for 6 years. This has been the absolute most stressful horrible term she's had since I've known her. The end of term is always rough, but it's in nightmare territory right now. Been very very rough. She can't explain why.

They helped create it. I'm sure they're delighted that they'll have juicy salacious things to report. Trump's good for business. Stability doesn't sell newspapers or give you clicks. They are irredeemably tainted in my eyes. I don't follow us media sites anymore. Except Mother Jones.

I would stock up on masks now. I've already ordered a lot. Last time they diverted PPE to other countries for the right price. You cannot trust the government to help you shit another pandemic occur. Prepare yourself now.

Anybody counting on huge corporations to voluntarily do anything required equal rights or diversity is foolish. All the things in place to protect people will be gone. Overtime? We're not paying that. Working off the clock? If you want to keep your job.

Connecticut has been under Fire warnings and watches probably for the last month. It's raining today but this is the first time in a very long time. I've lived here for 25 years, and we've never had that since I've been up here. Climate change is real and it's here.

I'm happy to see you too! I found most of my twit peeps here so far. A few diehards though will not leave Twitter until it implodes. I got a foot in over there but it's too gnarly for me

I'll be honest I use it to write some of my descriptions in my Etsy shop. It's easier and their vocabulary is bigger than mine. But, as an artist, I and very much not in favor. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but art comes from the soul, not a hard drive.

Wight dudes are terrified. They have been in power for so long and they are absolutely terrified of losing one little bit of it. t
That's because they're weak. Wighy skin is their only armor. It's become cumbersome and it's holding them back. They will drown in it. Inherently weak and feeble.

I was waiting for this. I knew there was no way that that information was going to be kept secret. I imagine the incoming Administration is just going to be plagued with leaks. Too bad so sad

If you as a white person get mad anytime another white person is called racist even when you're not, you're supporting white supremacy. This isn't hard. If you're not racist you don't need to respond. I don't feel the need to defend horrible white people and neither should you. Stop giving them air.

Hey, stop normalizing these wingnuts. Do you know how many children are going to die if we don't have vaccines? Know how many children are going to have side effects like blindness, delayed development, hearing loss, brain damage, and too many other things to list? Monstrous. Do better!

I'm splitting my time between Twitter, threads, and here. Twitter is going to be jettisoned in the very near future. You know, you know how horrible it is. Glad to find you

I'm having good luck finding people here because I have the same username. Unfortunately my threads name is different and I feel like some people don't recognize me. We will all find each other.🙂

I'm going to spend the next few days finding my Twitter friends either on threads or blue sky. Then I'm out. I don't want to support that man in any way. We need to start letting our money talk for us.

Great advice. I am going to spend tomorrow watching all the Lord of the Rings / Hobbit movies to remind me that there are some things in this world worth fighting for.
