Obviously both modes of progression are crucial. I’d argue that our progressive carries are the weakest part of our game, which will benefit our passing as we pull defenses out of shape.

2025: 33.4 progressive passes per game 2024: 39.2 2023: 34.1 2025: 12.0 progressive carries per game 2024: 15.6 2023: 15.2

Progressive passes per 90 in 2025? Ostrak 7.50 Nilsson 7.00 Lowen 6.32 Morales 6.21 Hartel 4.93 Pompeu 4.62 In 2024, there were also 12 above 4.00

It’s kind of hard to believe we didn’t sneak at least one ball every time the ball got inside the 6 yard box. But yeah, Mellberg isn’t addressing the vibes.

What? We had 54% possession

Oh duh, It makes complete sense, I just wasn’t getting it. My misunderstanding.

Looks awesome, and very helpful. Point of clarification, for Take On Wins, shouldn’t the lower number be worse?

STL vs SEA is a game with end-of-season repercussions. I’d put it at 5

How about a formal complaint about the homophobic chants?

I’m fascinated to find out what happened to the team before the game. The game plan was either not full or someone went down after the plane landed.

It just means we have 1 point instead of zero. We can’t make the playoffs not scoring.

Are we picking against Wallem because he hasn’t started yet? Or because he’s not the right pick?
comment in response to post
I feel upside down looking at this. But it’s probably correct
comment in response to post
Lol, as a St Louis fan, a $7 million signing seems far off

Are Celio and Wallem going to play at the same time?

All good points. I do think it’s important to note that Alm’s big injury last year was a nasty contact injury. It’s not like he wasn’t fit at that point.
comment in response to post
Isn’t he out of contract after this year?

I love Kijima, but I’m not sure he slots easily into this new set-up.

Teuchert needs time

Has his injury timing been the absolute worst for any US camp?

Any idea how other leagues are going to view these cash for transfer numbers? Are they roughly equivalent to selling/buying from a different league?

I don’t need another place telling me the odds. When I’m interested, I know where to go. I hate when it’s clearly just a sponsorship

College are giving out NIL money relative to income. Football, then basketball programs are the big winners in NIL, not soccer.

Got it. I just don’t trust that this illustration wasn’t made until after that first photo leak.

I hear you. What I meant to say is why do we think this is the official kit design? Is the source pic from a well respected insider?
comment in response to post
Vassilev tool two of the defenders away on his dummy run right before that

For those of us not in the know, why is this specific source validating?

Didn’t I hear that they have a couple friendlies scheduled against SLU too?

Don’t read too closely to this, because his time was limited: Perez was playing as a winger for Birmingham.

I had no idea the pressers were steamed live in the app. I always watched them days later or read Reddit transcripts of your posts covering the presser.

Agreed. La Liga does want Barca to fail, and this is a situation Barca knew was comingand seem to have an exceptional understanding of the bylaws. They haven’t “lost” a player yet
comment in response to post
Any idea what kind of time frame that would be? I can’t imagine them paying breaking even within the first 5 years with extreme optimism.

Fair enough, but I don’t think Lowen’s stats standout as much. Looking at the per90 stats, Lowen is at 2.86, Vassilev at 2.55, Reid at 2.47, Adeniran at 2.41. Celio’s job was literally to make these runs and he was close to doubling the per 90 at 4.71. It’s a big jump from 1 - 2, but not 2 to 20.
comment in response to post
I get the value, but Celio’s comparable is Indy or Alm, not Edu.
comment in response to post
I’m big on Pompeu, but that stat isn’t really comparable between their different positions. Edu’s job was generally to make progressive passes, not carries. He ranks in the 96th percentile for progressive carries among midfielders according to FBRef.
