Trump tends to use tariffs as a negotiating tool but the downside for markets is that in order for the threat to be credible he has to be willing to actually impose them for short periods of time. Longer term, though, I think he wants deals not permanent tariffs. See first term.

Can we please stop with the egg prices. That's MAGA level gaslighting. It's literally one product. Fine to talk about broader food prices as reflected in the CPI. Ridiculous to fixate on eggs.

Cruz thought he was following Lindsey Graham. Imagine his shock when Melania turned around.

Trump has always hated the First Amendment.

To the typical US urban apartment dweller MAGA's suggestion on eggs to "go buy a chicken" seems like the dumbest hillbilly shit imaginable. When beef prices soar will they say to buy your own cows to slaughter?

It's rather pointless to sign treaties with the US since it seems the subsequent administration will just tear them up.

I don't think Trump's billionaire friends expected him to fuck up so badly so quickly. He's ripped away $3T of value from US markets. That has to sting. I'm sure some of them are calling him with some choice words.

Mortality rate is about 1 in 1000 for Measles. Obviously not something you'd wish on anyone but if these outbreaks educate people about the importance of vaccines that could save lives. Much worse if it was Polio.

This is not the time to be gutting NOAA and NWS.

The problem is not so much what Europe spends, that's great, but their lack of industrial capacity to produce weaponry. Unclear if they can ramp that up fast enough to get meaningful amounts of materiel into Ukraine.

The Measles outbreak is perhaps a blessing in disguise because it shows people how stupid it is not to vaccinate your children. Imagine if, instead, it was polio which would cripple all these kids for lfie.

This is Trump's goal. He loves Putin more than his own children.

Great timing by Trump to dissolve NOAA and NWS right as a major storm system tears through the country.

Republicans will start rebelling against Trump once it starts hitting their bottom line. He has been poor for stocks so far.

Is Lutnick giving any advice to that fucking moron? Is Trump listening? What a shit show.

Honestly probably smart to take the deal because he's going to fire all of them. The Department of Education isn't going to survive this second Trump term.

So we've gone from an expectation of 3% growth under biden to a dip of 3% under Trump. Literally a 6% swing in economic expectation. What a debacle.
comment in response to

Nobody is stupid enough to believe that. Atlanta Fed had growth at nearly 3% the day Biden left office. Now it's negative 2.8%. And Biden had EXTREMELY consistent GDP growth throughout his Presidency.

Her excuse that she confused it with Kid Rock's penis was found NOT to be credible.

Some economic pain is necessary to get people to realize how horrible these Trump policies are and, God willing, vote rationally in the next two election cycles.

I hope some of the people who voted for him get crushed by all this. Yes I know that's a bad thought.

Wouldn't surprise me if he blinks at the last minute claiming some perfect phone calls with Mexico and Canada. That has happened once before.

Nobody is surprised. This was clearly Trump's plan all along. Peace proposal was never real. Europe needs to step up.

Is Trump calling them out for bad leaf raking and water management?

Not really true. Most MAGA absolutely love everything he is doing particularly DOGE and the border. The few that I follow seem to be having the happiest days of their miserable lives.

She should run but don't get your hopes too high. She'll likely be eliminated early in the primary process. Nowhere near our strongest candidate.
