Based on last time, this is when people start asking, "How do we get pins?" Here is how:
1. Be an independent bookstore.
2. Email through my website contact form.
3. Fill out the Google form when asked.
4. Receive pins via mail a few weeks before book release.
That's it!

These decisions are made by the publishers, never the authors.
Once again for the people at the back of the room.
These Decisions Are Made By The PUBLISHERS, Never The Authors.
The PA is sympathetic, the author wants you to have everything in the format you like, and neither of us can fix it.

The first executive function burden placed on folks trying to get the medication for the executive function disorder is kind of a lot.

Here’s hoping we move away from them with the acquisition of Husband Shaped Creature’s company.

Excellent choice! It is such a delightfully Jewish book.

Books I recommend to every SFF fan, regardless of type:
- Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers (don't know if they're here)
- A Half-Built Garden by @r-emrys.bsky.social
- Legends and Lattes by the inestimable @travisbaldree.bsky.social
- Digger by @tkingfisher.com

Husband Shaped Creature replied “but it wasn’t made with Gros Michel bananas,” very proud of himself.
I told him he was a very bad man and retired to the sofa with the not gross ice cream.

While I’ve got my nose stuck in bergamot and black tea, the overpowering smell of bananas is lingering from the dirty scoop on the counter, which lead to me grumbling “go away you gross people with your gross ice cream.”

I’m not saying mine is the only perspective, just that it is mine.

The only difference between Superman and Moses is that there is no surviving Krypton to be redeemed and brought into safety. There is only Superman, wandering and alone.

Superman is not a savior. He is the last child of a dying world set adrift in a vessel so that hopefully something of that world will survive among others. He is raised to be like those others, and finally comes into his own.

Because I would like, as a Jewish SFF fan, to finally in this year 5785 have a Superman movie that understands who Superman is in his bones.

I am just sitting here hoping for a distinct lack of Jesus imagery. So far no one has been able to get away from it.

Fine motor issues remain.

It wouldn't. You don't have the fine motor control. Also, it's unlikely the needles or yarn would handle the lack of atmosphere well.

I definitely recommend boudoir shoots for confidence building.

We at @geekcalligraphy.com could use a boost in these trying times.

There is a reason I no longer go to Wiscon. Or will allow myself to be placed on panels with certain people.

Progressive fandom is possibly The Worst when it comes to stuff like this.

Because this Worldcon will be driving distance from my house, I’ll be cooking ahead some meals and on site some others.
The difference between Worldcon and the last con I used to regularly do this at is time of year. So the hearty crockpot chicken meals of January don’t really suit August.

Why does a convention require a menu plan? Keeping kosher means I can’t just rely on local restaurants or the hotel food options. And my mental well being is greatly improved by at least one hot meal per day (we found this out the hard way). So I either cook on site or bring prepared food to cons.

This year, thanks to the fact that the formal ball gown I bought her for her auntie’s second wedding still fits. So with the purchase of a crown and wand, we have a Glinda. This picture is from the wedding, Purim isn’t until next week.

Doc said “so titers aren’t the be all benchmark that they’re made out to be and if you’re concerned, do you just want to get the booster now?” And so now I am waiting for extra MMR vaccine because science is amazing and measles are the worst.
