#EduInFocus culture building takes time- folks need to know one another well enough to feel safe de-privatizing their practice, and then they need lots of structures positive experiences to reinforce that safety. Don’t rush or force participation.

Reflect reflect reflect. What do you know now that you didn’t before? What do you still need (or want) to learn? How does your performance in this particular assessment experience show what you actually know and can do? What should you do the same or different going forward? #EduInFocus

Then, because we live online these days, share how it went! Take pics! Go live! Tell everyone about your AMAZING library adventures!!

Never been to the library? They are going to be so excited to meet you and show you around. Seriously. Go to the desk- any desk- and tell them you’re brand new to the library thing. It will make their day.

Can’t get there? No worries! You can download ebooks for kids and adults (and probably other cool stuff) from home!

Got kids? There may be a toy library, or crafts to make but there are soooo many books!

There’s a tiny pork operator down the road from me here in NH. 10 acres. Processed in VT because no one here will do it. Reminds me of how I grew up.

I’m one of those 3-books-at once people. Class prep plus two guilty pleasures. :-)

Oh, also, any ideas for motivating dysregulated students to use the strategies we offer? I hear a lot of teachers talk about how stuck students are and we know that dysregulation can start to feel normal which prevents students from accessing tools that could help them regulate their emotions.

Thank you for this! I wonder if Tyler could talk a bit about how formative assessments can support student motivation (and/or how they can get in the way).

I mailed a check to the bank in Union Star and it took two months to get there from New Hampshire. According to the folks at the bank, the mail only comes every three or four days.
