I know that psychosis is stigmatized and mental illness on medical charts often triggers the providers into not giving decent care. I’m a therapist and I work with way too many folks with medical trauma.

I’m so sorry you went through that and are continuing to deal with the aftermath. I had allergic reactions to them & now have to go through an internal flow chart with medical providers about my personal safety when they ask if I’m allergic to any medications.

Because of course they wouldn’t, I wasn’t experiencing psychosis. 6 months later I sought assessment, and was Dx’d with ASD and PTSD in part due to my experience that led to the mental health crisis.

I find this absolutely fascinating. I was put on anti-psychotics during a mental health crisis a few years ago, which now I see as Autistic burnout. Because my therapist at the time was adamant that I wasn’t Autistic she discouraged me from seeking assessment. antipsychotics did nothing to help.

I’m originally from Houston and grew up shopping at WF. 12 years ago I was employed by WF and it was an absolute nightmare. I was there only 9 months and ended up with PTSD.
