It's the truest thing I've ever read that will be completely inscrutable to future generations

It's important that we all recognize how little our "checks and balances" matter to this administration and start talking to our neighbors about how we're going to keep each other safe and healthy as a community for the next 3 to ? years.

I mean, if he's mostly saying cool and tbh true shit like this, I dunno... Bernie had some cringe and shitty takes when he was young too. He's on the right path and could end up being really awesome when he's like 30.

Thanks! You must have caught us on a good day lol

I really wish more people had this attitude toward it. Even with the hassles around it, it's such an undeniably cool event that brings a lot of people together and really lets the people in this city, both performers and attendees, show off what makes Somerville such a vibrant community

That whole record should be required listening for anybody who was in a rigid musical or arts scene in their youth.

Please tell me he's been a tardigrade or that he will be in the future

In my day job as a fine gardener I am forever backing my ass into spiky stuff. All you need now is a ridiculous glove tanline and you've made it to the pros. Bonus points if you have bruises and cuts you can't explain but you haven't had more than three drinks in a week since March.

If they want some extra time in there to see "oh can we mess with (any tool or instrument in the studio you didn't know about)" have them map out all their parts on paper beforehand. Organizing up front let us mess with a grand piano and then guitar through vintage rotary speakers.

I'm forever playing Witcher 3 wondering how long the items have been sitting in these bandits' pockets as I leave a battle with 7 chicken sandwiches

The murder books don't sell as well as Great Value(tm) "Books of Magic" did and this is all she has. It's cold comfort, but it's pretty clear she's culturally irrelevant without the bigotry and she can't accept it.

And it's confusing. Why devote so much of your life to hate? It has to be exhausting, and the only fulfillment she's going to get out of it is that cigar and glass of wine. It's fleeting. It'll pass and she'll still be in her mansion with her best days behind her and no good ideas in the pipeline.

To be fair, the difference between what Harvard was already doing and what Trump demanded is pretty small.

I don't know that the geopolitical situation regarding Israel and Palestine is all that complex. Palestine existed, the British fucked them over, and now Israel is committing genocide. You can kinda tell it's simple when so many fascists also support it, they tend to be pretty complication-averse.

Gaza is a genocide and not all Jews are Zionists.

I listen to his podcasts but I think if the vibe is off for you I'd recommend maybe the Dollop? A lot of the same subject matter but it's more like if LPOTL weren't edgelords and were more obviously leftist. There's an amazing run of episodes on the history of policing in America from 2010ish.

Imagine you, I dunno, paint a really nice picture of your pets and post it, then your DMs fill up with comments about your feminism or fashion or why didn't you make a statement about (blank). It's kind of a wild move to pull on a stranger.

Not a day goes by where I don't feel incredibly grateful to be a boring generic dude who gets to make music without a bunch of strangers screaming at me about my looks and my politics. Do I wish we had a bigger platform and more sales? Sure maybe, but holy shit am I glad to be barely known.

The federal government is disappearing students in broad daylight and you think a tagged cyber truck is cause for a statement? Get real dude.

@guster.bsky.social wow, didn't expect anyone to see this. "two points for honesty" is pretty frequent on my vocal warmup mix for driving to shows. Hit us up if you ever want a sludge metal opener in Massachusetts lol
