At yesterday's protests in Atlanta, police arrested the respected journalist Mario Guevara—clearly ID'd as press and, crucially, known for tirelessly documenting ICE abuses—for livestreaming their crackdown. He was booked on charges of "obstruction" and "pedestrian walking on or along" a roadway.

Correct. This was an easy test for media outlets and many of them failed horribly. No need to give them yet another chance.

When NO KINGS reigns over your parade. #SAD 🤣

I categorically refuse to accept either of these as normal or routine. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/14/u...

So it’s just going to be every cops everywhere now that uses excessive force upon people and violates their constitutional rights. This is Charleston, SC and they did this for all of 10 people just exercising their first amendment.

🤔

Another straightforward violation of the Posse Comitatus Act. In a democratic society which valued accountability and the rule of law, this would produce impeachment of the executive branch officials and discharge of the military chain of command.

Law enforcement is wagging the dog. If there's no threat, they'll create one. FFS.

🧵 The First Amendment in the US is dead.

If any Army servicepeople are reading this, please know that we, the people, thank you and support you. The lack of turnout in no way reflects a lack of gratitude. We are so grateful for you. We just can't support your service being misused to feed the petty ego of one man.

And tourism is already down how much? Couldn't pay us enough to go.

Today is the 810th anniversary of the Magna Carta. We're proud to care for the place that many see as the birthplace of modern democracy.

Today in Boston. Over a million people turned out. Even the drone couldn't get it all. #NoKingsDay #BostonStrong #ICEProtest

I need everyone on Normal People internet to know that American Girl Doll Instagram is doing doll protests today. There are tiny t-shirts and signs. AND THEN I realized it's a joint protest with the Barbie ppl, where there are EVEN TINIER SIGNS.

This gives me hope that someone in our military is subversive enough to do the right thing when the wrong/evil orders are given from the top...

World Cup and Olympics organizers texting each other furiously, wondering how they break the contract.

Discworld QOTD, from Snuff “Cheery was aware that Commander Vimes didn't like the phrase 'The innocent have nothing to fear', believing the innocent had everything to fear, mostly from the guilty but in the longer term even more from those who say things like 'The innocent have nothing to fear'.”

April 20, 1939: A massive military parade attended by hundreds of thousands of spectators is held in Berlin for the Führer's 50th birthday. The lavish spectacle is designed to wow the domestic audience, intimidate foreign observers, and prepare the nation psychologically for the coming war.

Happy 250th birthday to U.S. Army! 🇺🇸 The brave men and women of our Army are the real heroes we should be celebrating. Not a wannabe king who throws himself a $40 million birthday parade.

"My index finger. They [Russians] said, 'You don't need it anymore." This is a Ukrainian Defender from Sloviansk,Donetsk region, who was returned to #Ukraine during today's exchange. While in captivity, the Russians cut his index finger off, "justifying" this by saying that "he no longer needed it."

DISTURBING: ICE in Las Vegas threw teenagers against a wall, handcuffed them, scraped up their faces, bruised their arms — just for looking “illegal” while they were on their way home from a birthday party. This is what cowardice looks like with a badge.

The LAPD "kettled" (coralled) these young peaceful protesters at 715pm. Curfew was at 8pm. The cops held them surrounded until 8pm & began to arrest them one by one. They weren't told on what charge. www.instagram.com/reel/DK3JPKg...

Straight up DARVO. Simone wasn't the one in the wrong.

Fox hosts, parroting DHS, claimed Sen. Padilla "ran at,” "lunged at," and tried to “bum-rush” Kristi Noem. Video disproves their claims, showing Padilla standing calmly across the room asking his question as security grabs him.

You ok with this, #floridabar ?

#AbolishICE Let every member of the #GOP be shamed for their cruelty.

A federal grand jury indicted Representative LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) on three criminal counts.

Think of ICE as one of those crooked Florida police departments in small towns that pulls over *thousands* of drivers on I-95 for *any* reason to meet quotas for tickets. Stephen Miller has given ICE quotas for arrests and they will meet those quotas whether the arrestees deserve it or not.

A grand total of 160 people have been arrested for protesting in LA in almost an entire week! That requires 4,700 armed troops? Only when you're Chicken Little trying to manufacture a crisis.

The Secretary of Homeland Security just said the feds are there to remove democratically elected officials in California and then had a Senator detained. Why is that not in every headline? It's what happened.

Mark this for the history books: “We’re talking about the president exercising his authority, and the president is of course limited to his authority. That’s the difference between a constitutional government and King George,” said Judge Charles Breyer.

Disability justice is a very hard thing to advocate for Disability will happen to almost everyone, so it’s in their best interest to help But people are terrified of disability & desperate to believe they’ll be the exception So they treat us appallingly. They don’t “get it” until it’s their turn
