Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…

Propaganda. They are fed a steady diet of rightwing lies. It’s either Fox News, Sinclair broadcasting, or any of the other rightwing propaganda machines that feed rural Americans righteous BS.

Is a pay per view battle royal in our future? I would certainly pay good money to see the 2 of them fight it out with any weapons of their choosing. The proceeds could go to paying down the debt.

Trump administration’s real goal is to deport as many brown people as possible. They don’t need a fancy transaction office to figure out who’s brown enough to deport.

Wow ETTD collateral damage. I can take heart in that I didn’t spend 100’s of millions of dollars to get enable this. Koch can’t say that.

I agree with Elon Musk on at least one thing. Peter Navarro is the dumbest person. It was bound to happen.

The sad political reality is the rural vote is far more valuable than the city and suburban vote. With gerrymandering, and the design of the senate.

As David Frum said this is a Victor Orban/Putin move. This is straight out of the authoritarian playbook. Weaponize the justice system against your political rivals.

We could not have been defeated by an external enemy by force but simple propaganda aimed at a large portion of our population has destroyed us from within.

How much major could have been wrong with the US government if we literally had the most successful economy, military, etc on earth? Sure we had problems, but the project 2025 people and this administration act like it was all broken and had to be torn apart to fix.

Really it’s a war on America. The tariffs are just the most monetarily destructive in the short term. They have literally taken the most successful country in the world and have almost destroyed it in less than 90 days.

Super thread. Trump’s policies have always been bad. Now he’s even worse; attacking the constitution, implementing the fascist 2025 agenda, ruining our goodwill in the world, destroying NATO, and harming our economy for a generation.

The Unitary Executive theory is really an authoritarian vision having nothing to do with an accurate interpretation of the US CONSTITUTION. Trumps insane policies and actions should make it clear it isn’t even a good idea.

That’s some 3D chess right there. For 2 small dogs to take up the maximum amount of space on a bed takes planning and coordination. If only they were running our government.

The irony for young families is they can pick up cheaper settings of china from an antique, good will or junk store than buying new from other outlets. And reuse is the best recycling option. Since they are only bought for utilitarian purposes they don’t have to worry about hand washing them.

It’s a lie that the young even want the retirement age raised.
comment in response to
post
Here’s what really makes me mad. The only reason they want to move the retirement age is so billionaires can get a tax break. Well the other reason is they want to destroy SS so moving it to an age where virtually no one can use it also serves their purpose.
comment in response to

Sununu doesn’t even know the retirement age when he starts arguing about raising it. It’s basically 67 now if you want your full SS payout. He thinks it’s 60 at first. 60 would be a good age for most people to retire.

The majority of MAGA faithful don’t care about the stock market because they don’t have 401ks or other investments. Of course they are losing their SS, so there is that. maybe they’ll care when they lose something close to them.

It was a truly ridiculous decision. It has no basis in the constitution. It was just a gift from the rightwing justices to make sure Trump wasn’t convicted of obvious crimes before the election. SCOTUS slow walked any cases which would hurt Trump, and quickly ruled on any issues which helped.
comment in response to

Donald Trump is demonstrating daily why the Unitary Executive Theory is a stupid idea. It relies on a deliberate misinterpretation of the Constitution and is just ridiculous in practice.

But not on stocks. Always lower prices on stocks. With Biden, at least you got higher stock prices to compensate for the inflation. With Trump higher consumer prices with lower stock prices, quite the double whammy, and quite the accomplishment.

It’s going to cost us forever. Our former allies are now refusing to buy our weapon systems. They’ll never be back as customers. We are now deemed too unreliable. They will design their own weapon systems. Our defense industry was one of our high tech halo industries.

Now they’re starting the fire Waltz and move on phase, when everyone in the chat should be behind bars. It wasn’t just inviting a journalist by mistake, but using a platform to circumvent FOIA, a platform not approved nor appropriate for communication of secret information, and then lying about it.
