It's an inactivated virus platform so, you have to grow the virus then inactivate it. Risky and probably doesn't scale well. As opposed to mRNA vaccines which are low risk and scale easier. This is basically an anti-vaccine attack on mRNA vaccines which are arguably the better technology.

I would imagine leaving the WHO again also impacts seasonal vaccines, since we won't have the global reporting data for new strains. Or at least the US won't be contributing data to the WHO repositories.

Just had this debate with a mechanical engineer the other night. His complaint was that it writes better code than his colleagues (students). My response was, sure, for solved algorithms. Meaning things that you can cut and paste from Wikipedia. From a computational biology perspective, super useful
