How on earth can this country still hold the World Cup and Olympics next year??

So then Elon goes "Kill the Bill!" and Trump goes "Elon has TDS!" so Elon goes "I'm the reason Trump won!" so Trump goes "we waste billions on Elon!" so Elon goes "Epstein!" and a corpulent flunkie goes "Deport Elon!" and Elon goes "Impeach!" And THAT'S why women are too emotional to be President.

I... oh my god. amandaguinzburg.substack.com/p/diabolus-e...

As ever, the loudest voices calling for the collapse of universities, presumably in the post-92 sector, benefitted from privileged educations.

A new KS3 BIG question from the @ministryofeco.bsky.social is "Can eating fish be sustainable?" for Biology & Food Tech. Including resources from @mcsuk.bsky.social & @proveguk.bsky.social to help children to understand there are ways to enjoy fish, or fish alternatives, while protecting the oceans.

This is going to sound incredibly earnest and preachy but fuck it. Support creative people. Buy their stuff. Share it on here. Music, art, words, whatever. Things made by humans for humans.

Here's a link (paywall free) to my @foreignaffairs.com article on the need for better economic measurement: www.foreignaffairs.com/united-state...

okay but the response will be 100% DEI free and each hurricane will get a name which leaves no ambiguity about whether it's a dude or a chick.

Just a reminder, in case anyone needs it, of the results of anti-migrant rhetoric. How many others aren't lucky enough to win 'protracted' (read: the Home Office is refusing to discharge its legal responsibilities) cases or are ignored and die in exile? www.theguardian.com/global/2025/...

My grandmas were immigrants, my mum & sisters in law are immigrants; my sister & nephews are migrants. My kids study maths, Shakespeare, dance, act & score tries alongside the kids of immigrants. My dad’s life was saved by immigrants. Immigrants have made us richer, wiser, stronger Win the fight

Starmer's anti-immigrant speech today wasn't just a moral and political embarrassment. It was also an intellectual embarrassment. inews.co.uk/opinion/star...

I hope you’re not waiting for some clever defence of Starmer’s speech. As you know, I try to be fair and have praised him on foreign policy. I don’t think the White Paper is terrible, but ALL of the language surrounding it is inexcusable, insupportable, and indefensible. He can kiss my migrant butt.

Starmer announces that immigrants should have degrees to get visas. But will reduce the number of foreign students who can come here and get degrees. So contradictory as well as small-minded then.

‘Cheap foreign labour’ – this is how Keir Starmer denigrates the migrant carers looking after your loved ones

The Labour Party talks big on economic growth, relying on increased GDP to fund its plans. In attacking education as it has today, it reveals that it is more interested in pandering to the nasties than making this a better country to live in. No one interested in a better Britain hobbles education.

Should our employers feel like our family? Or can this approach make it harder to escape exploitative and abusive work? @elisabethwide.bsky.social @helsinki.fi on social obligations, feminist approaches to labour, and the experiences of au pairs in Finland. #OpenAccess buff.ly/TMmHkdo

So, minister, should the free market universities respond by raising their prices (regulated by the government), expanding their customer base (regulated by the government), or change their product (regulated by the government)?

I, for one, am tired of [gestures broadly]. I have grown weary of [points in all directions simultaneously].

This is a fascinating and quite beautiful topic.

Manufacturers with supply chains requiring aluminum will have 2 tons of aluminum instead of 30, and maybe these two tons will cost a couple more bucks.

How long before we have WhiteHouseologists trying to discern what the hell is happening?

Mark Carney is asked how the lessons of Brexit apply to Trump's tariff policy. "When you break off or substantially rupture trade relations with major trading partners... you end up with slower growth, higher inflation, higher interest rates, volatility, a lower currency, a weaker economy." ~AA
