If I were to be particularly tongue in cheek I would suggest that a lot of the media seem to think "young men are moving right because the left have prevented them for their birthright" is too good a story to fact check.

I'd guess you're familiar with Robert Gordon's book It Came from Memphis? I don't think I know of a better or more exciting book about any city's history of music

I don't imagine a lot of people will be talking about "Vega-Tables" but I don't know of another song that's as evocative of the nearly self aware/self conscious too wide smile of mania (or its drug induced analogs) on the cusp of crashing

Not everyone knows that the album art for Not Pictured has a title, but it does. It's called Self Portrait as Brian Wilson and is derived from this photo. I might write more about that but not right now
