Just like in the parks, safety comes first. - Stay with your group - Follow the signs (or in this case, the facts) - Leave no one behind - Document everything - Don’t engage alone

This is important in the most horrific sense. I have two sweet babies and the idea of being forcibly separated from them makes me physically ill.

This. Allllllllllll of this.

No, you’re not crazy. They are deporting brown people and importing white people.

Never forget your natural born rights.

I would have killed for dolls like these as a kid. My kids will never understand the depths of their privilege.

The differences in content between my Meta accounts and Bluesky is alarming. Straightforward news from multiple sources and thoughtful commentary here. Tradwife, Christian nationalism, and celeb gossip content there. My Meta algorithm seems to have done a 180 right around January 20. Hmmm… 🤔

Art class should never stop being a thing. Like if right after lunch we all got to go down to the basement for an hour, throw on a smock, and make collages out of old magazines while somebody's eccentric, slightly witchy aunt tells us how great we're doing, I feel like we'd all be in a better place.

just stumbled on a real jaw-dropper of a line in an essay -- “The corollary of being interested in a great range of things is to have sympathy with a great range of outlooks” -- and that, my friends, is why reading is so important.

Three simple words can ignite fear in the heart of any parent. “I’m doing science!”

And/or the denial of the humanity and right to exist of people God loves (spoiler: that would be everyone).

First they came for the immigrants, and I spoke out, because I’ve read the damn poem before and I know how it ends.

So the worst genre is definitely dystopian nonfiction

Anyone looking to ban a book from a school should have to prove they read it by presenting a book report to the school committee.

My favorite human fact is that we can’t physically tell the difference between cold and wet.

There’s a lot to say about this. But perhaps the most interesting thing is that it’s interfaith. Aren’t those most interested in Christian nationalism typically anti-interfaith? Does this just mean all Christian denominations can attend? OR Trump just doesn’t want to limit potential income pools…

Terry Pratchett's "Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socio-economic unfairness". The best quote I've ever read about why being poor can be so expensive.

Alright, folks. Here's the inaugural Blue Sky post. Too soon for the word inaugural? This will either be the very first of many future ramblings. Or, I lose the password and never post again. We shall see...
