If you spot any home gardeners around growing rhubarb, do ask for a few stalks. If the gardener says, Sure, just twist & pull the red ones at the bottom instead of cutting with clippers. Now is the time to enjoy this out-of-this-world tang. (With or without added flowers, the leaves are gorgeous.)
