The rock worms are so clever, I bring them up all the talking to people about level design!!
It also does a surprising amount with it's setting too - you'd think setting the game mostly underground would limit them, but it's still constantly bringing new stuff in like the riftworm and locust barges

I played them all for the first time relatively recently and Gears 2 had me freaking out about how clever the mechanics and level design was the whole way through... Gears 3 is also great too...
