The whole idea of Trump as antiwar rests on a confused reading of his hatred of multilateralism, the international order and the Deep State. He doesn't hate those things for good "dovish" reasons. He hates them for degenerate, corrupt reasons. Here's a corrective. 5/

Theoretically, there should be a coalition of Dems and Republicans prepared to support this resolution requiring congressional authorization for war with Iran.

when people make a stand (Booker's filibuster, Padilla speaking up at the press conference) people are just really eager to elevate them. people are hungry for any sign of resistance or spine.

but...with some exceptions in some situations, they've also just been sitting on their hands, and more eager to signal to some mythical independent that they're reasonable than they are to stand with targeted people against fascism.
