Good to see and thanks for the reminder! I’m adding it to my to-do list just so I can block it off.

The strawberry candies! They will appear for you. (I firmly believe that no one actually buys them 😆) seriously though, that sounds like a great gathering. Kudos to you.

Columbia canceled my class on Race and Media, but I'm teaching it anyway. All thanks to people power and community support-- especially from you all on Bluesky! Happy to announce I'll be teaching Race Media and International Affairs 101 online-- hosted by D.C.'s MLK Jr. Memorial Library!

Would love to hear HAL’s voice say “I’m sorry Elon. I’m afraid I can’t do that” right about now.

“Specimen.” 😂

I’d become a forever fan of the first sports team to mention wrongful termination when they introduce a veteran at their game/match/event. Can you imagine that on a Jumbotron?

Same. Argh. And am I misremembering that Ace was in the same boat as Home Depot?

Excellent reference. Kinda makes me feel like riverdancing.

I still see almost as many of them still as I do actual maskers!
comment in response to post
That is so great to see. It may take effort and funds and the dedication to enforce masking if people start to get tired of it, but it is *doable.*

These are fantastic. Well done.

Wait, I’m seeing others saying that the downgrade is a good thing, for research purposes?
comment in response to post
Wow and no specific tracking of the downgrade - just “updated biosafety level.” That seems dangerously vague.

That guessing game of “is it because I was cheering but also shouting at the players and refs?” is such a fun guessing game. Glad you had one neg test so far!

& I am envious! I hope you all had the greatest time. 😷

That is amazing!!

This is so helpful, thank you for putting it all together!

When I’ve asked that Q, the frequent answer I’ve gotten is “the CDC says it’s not a pandemic anymore.” They think it’s endemic, and it’s like the flu and people are just going to catch it but the vaccine will protect them. So I try to correct all of that misinformation.

Sincere kudos to your kid for continuing to mask! (It’s hard enough as an adult!) And kudos to you too, as their parent.

Ah, I understand. That’s not easy either, and definitely bittersweet.

Also, love the idea of a collar scarf!

You’re giving her a multi-day celebration, so don’t be too hard on yourself! (Easier said than done I know.) But truly, that all sounds very nice. And now I’m tempted to pick up a grocery store cake this week.

I’ve been wondering the same - was thinking 3 days after the last exposure might work. Or, right before you meet up with others (or as close as you can get if you have plans that would need to be canceled). Fingers crossed for you to test neg.

I’m so sorry for your loss. There are no words for the way she and so many others were failed. just shared anger and grief.

I did not realize how much I needed this thread/discussion/whatever it’s called on bluesky until just now. Thank you.
