I know this wasn't the point of this, but goodness, Stan Musial is underrated.

As a Notre Dame/Bears fan, this only reinforces my bias

4th in yards, 2nd in TDs, 10th in yards per attempt, 5th in QB rating and 1st in completion percentage (at least you got one right)

Guess the silver lining is the team never quit. Not sure that would have been the case with the last guy.

Hypothetical Alabama is still the real "Johnny Be Good"

They just re-upped in 2023 through the 2029 season. Seems like things are going pretty well.

They would be in the conference championship game every year. Just like they were the only year they were in a conference

"Once again" referring to 2020 during Covid?

Tennessee, Ohio State and Indiana also did not play in a conference championship game. If he's looking fo fairness, no one should be in a conference

Ha! "Win the national championship or you suck!" Next level trolling

Georgia's Delp and Georgia Tech's Hawes are both better than Klare. Granted, Warren is another level.

I think the fact Stockton played so well is a sign the program is NOT slipping. Quality depth is what makes programs strong. My point is Georgia was losing to ND regardless because ND was better this year.
comment in response to

I mean, they didn't win and I don't think the QB was the reason, but hypotheticals are fun I guess.
comment in response to

Don't think Georgia wins the injury what if game but either way, Stockton played really well...the Georgia OL did not
comment in response to
post
Maybe, but not certainly. Gunner Stockton played really well and I think Georgia only running for 62 yards was much more significant.

They absolutely will be. Whether they win the actual game is another story, but Vegas will have them a dog against either.

ND with the "always has been" meme

Definitely an improvement, but not drastically. Probably still looking at 3 non-competitive games.

Also includes a 44-16 win over Alabama in the national championship for the 2018 season

That year was all blowouts...with the biggest one in the championship game

Was this a debate specific to position players or did someone like Maddux get any run?
comment in response to
post
Oh come on Nate. Surely you aren't suggesting we actually watch the games are you? I mean, we could just look at the box score (and of course take away the 98 yard TD run) and know this was a competitive game.

Those are not home games

Ol' Box Score Billy - "Curt Cignetti and dem boys were right there! Just look at the box score without the 98 yard run!"

While I don't have any personal experience with this specific example, I am a union member and am very confident if those employees were a member of SEIU, they would be treated better. Here is hoping that will one day be a reality for you and yours. Happy Holidays.
comment in response to
post
I have none, just a comment. Is it crazy to assume that an employee in Texas is treated differently than an employee in California? All other employment is treated differently, so would reason to believe that college athletic staff would also be treated differently. Could be wrong I guess.
comment in response to
post
That sucks, but just because Texas sucks, doesn't mean others are not fairly compensated.
comment in response to
post
Yeah. ND handled both lines of scrimmage and could pretty much do what they wanted. I think Indiana knew they were over-matched and did the best they could. They were lucky to stay as close as they did.
comment in response to

I mean, they did get blown out. I guess the score looks better, but it was never in doubt

It's the Sugar Bowl, in NOLA

Should have definitely gone for it, but if he did, would have been 34-3. Not that it wasn't a blow out anyway, but hey, looks better in the "paper"

Always seeing this sentiment makes me think Fielding Yost won the long game.
comment in response to

While I agree that A&M is probably NDs best win, the committee is telling us they think Army is better
comment in response to
post
Could be, hard to know what they will do. Full disclosure, I am an ND fan but gotta be honest, taking Georgia to OT is more impressive than housing Army. I support the troops, but that is not a great football team.
comment in response to
post
Looking like Oregon may run it up, but I'd be shocked if Texas doesn't stay ahead of ND. I think it matters how the conference title games actually play out and that was a battle.
comment in response to
post
Disagree. Think Texas will stay ahead of them (taking the 5 seed) and then it comes down to what happens in B10 championship. If PSU wins or keeps it close, think they stay ahead too and ND ends up 7
comment in response to
post
Obviously made the correct choice, but man, the what ifs in the NFL. Dude was unstoppable.
comment in response to

Also, ND ranks 2 in FPI while PSU is 9. Plenty of ways to evaluate teams other than "Who lost to NIU in week 2?"
