TUC supports workers’ mobility with EU and says: “We’re wanting the government to look at every option on the table, up to and including [rejoining] the customs union” 👏 www.politico.eu/article/unio...

My question clearly struck a nerve. The faces of many Labour MPs told their own story – plenty of them know I was right. If Starmer’s convictions change with the political weather, it’s no surprise that support for Labour is falling through the floor.

www.thenational.scot/politics/251... John Swinney’s response summed it up in a nutshell. “Nigel Farage could have delivered that speech ... I can’t believe that Keir Starmer found himself able to,” he said.

Reform UK says it’ll ‘reset Britain inch by inch'. But to what? Smog, slums and Section 28? Their nostalgic fantasy hides a dangerous truth. This is a clear-eyed breakdown of what’s really on offer ⤵️

Brexit Impact Report 2025 In their own words: Brexit's impact on UK businesses @europeanmovement.co.uk Survey report of over 1,100+ UK businesses highlights Brexit's toll on SMEs 72.8% negatively affected by Brexit 96.4% say Brexit harmed communities 98.2% support rejoining the single market 👇

In a normal nation, we would have our own independent, impartial media. #ScottishIndependence

Apply for the UK to rejoin the EU fully - do not just 'reset' the relationship I think the UK needs to rejoin the EU fully for maximum economic benefit and to restore influence rather than merely 'reset' relation petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...

Every €1 the EU invests in research can yield up to €11 in growth by 2045. With €43 billion from Horizon Europe, we’ve backed 15,000+ projects – from antibiotics to the transition. This year we’ll put in over €7.3 billion to meet Europe’s challenges. For everyone to benefit ↓ europa.eu/!WHpGGg

If Labour weren't such total cowards about Brexit, they could have diffused the row over immigration by pointing, again and again and again, at the graph that shows immigration skyrocketed immediately after the transition period ended. Make "Brexit = v high levels of immigration" in peoples' minds.

Starmer won’t be forgiven for this by swathes of people.

🚨 NEW POLLING: A majority of Brits (52%) would be open to aligning with ALL EU rules on goods and products if it led to a better trading relationship with the EU. Only a quarter would oppose such a move. The public is clearly in favour of a common sense approach. #Brexit

It's a bad sign when allegedly intelligent columnists in purported liberal publications spend more energy defending Starmer's clumsy, ugly and gratuitously populist attack on immigrants than they spend defending immigrants.

Stella Creasy, leader of Labour Movement for Europe informs Parliament that she does not want to argue to rejoin the EU then gives the arguments why we should rejoin.🤷‍♂️

UK scientists and businesses are again eligible to partner with EU counterparts in cutting-edge research projects under the Horizon Europe programme. That has mitigated one Boris Johnson Brexit disaster. Maybe Monday's summit will mitigate - it can't solve - some more? ec.europa.eu/commission/p...

I sincerely hope not - it's a terrible idea & not worthy of British supposedly left/centre politicians. www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/the...

BREAKING: The politicians who take thousands of pounds in expenses and stuff their faces at a tax-payer subsidised canteen and get drunk at a tax-payer subsidised bar and enjoy a tax-payer subsidised second home want you to know it's wrong to take handouts from the state x

Quoting Enoch Powell is never a coincidence. The Prime Minister knew what message he was sending — and who he was sending it to. Disgraceful.

Truth hurts, doesn’t it? Starmer’s principles seem to blow with the political wind. It should be no surprise that Labour’s support is crumbling in Wales.

The worst element of what happened this week isn't even about immigration specifically. It's that Starmer surrendered against populism.

Vote SNP for a party that agrees.

Prices on supermarket shelves, defence cooperation and the ability of professionals to work in Europe could all depend on next week's UK EU summit

Before the Brexit referendum, Brexiters would pick a real or imagined flaw in the EU as a reason to leave it, even though it was far outweighed by the benefits. Now they hail every tiny win as a 'Brexit Benefit', even though it represents a minimal fraction of what we lost by Brexit.

This the PM who's elected to lead the whole of the UK. Honestly.

There are three stages to summits like Monday's UK-EU summit. Before the summit, the day of the summit and the aftermath of the summit. The day of the summit is often the least important in decision-making terms....but usually the most important in communication and media terms.

Portugal is taking online disinformation and fake news seriously. As part of a broader attempt to encourage media literacy, it’s offering 15-18 year olds a free digital subscription to a range of respected newspapers and magazines as well as online upstarts that don’t spread lies. (Monocle)

Very ashamed today of Starmer/Labour's comments about 'island of strangers' and 'incalculable damage'. It's the job of the government to leave the country in a better place than they found it, not to appeal to the base instincts of a nation in order simply to carry on governing.
