It could have an automatic system, to unlock after a timer counts down or certain conditions are met. Enforce obedience in the subject, making them follow orders or tell the truth. Or over share, spilling what’s on their mind. Pillories are made for humiliation, a curse oughta be in service of that.

It was maybe a little bit extreme

Her backstory is pretty slapdash but yeah! She thought she’d be Queen but ended up at the very bottom of the pecking order, ordered around by the same maids that used to serve her… and they’re more than happy to abuse that power over her. bsky.app/profile/d-mo...

It’s a pretty drastic move, but it won’t be the last we see of it!

Really, Effie was meant to stay a nameless vent character outside of the """canon""" of my goblin art and practice for b/w rendering, but it's helped to try colors other than the, uh, intentionally obnoxious jewel tones of my demons or green monochrome kappa. Sadly, b/w never sells very well...

Ah, thanks, that's so kind of you to say 😅

I highly recommend Takahashi Yousuke's works, he did a lot of short horror/comedy stories, particularly about monster girls. There's sadly no scanlations of Crazy Pierrot, but there are other stories that are fully translated. If you're into 70s/80s horror manga check them out! #mediamuck

I try not to buy books that I can't read, but Takahashi's chunky brushwork is so evocative. Even without the context, the cartoonish violence is super fun. Shout out to this lady who gives Lady Bathory a run for her money with industrial tech. #mediamuck

I can't state enough how *into* this design I am. That classic 'pierrot' costume combined with the impish features is such a look. And those eyelashes? I am not normal about this androgynous murderfreak. #mediamuck
