I'm saying we all lost. Things are going to get worse, and the only people whose lives will improve are the wealthy

And America lost
comment in response to post
No, but I'm fairly confident you're not who you say you are. There is footage of checkpoints and Palestinians being forced to go through them and being denied access after a curfew.

And the Canaanites were over 2000 years ago. I'm aware that the conflict has gone back a long time. That does not give Israel the right to treat Palestinians as less than human
comment in response to post
There are checkpoints that keep Palestinians from getting medical care. Their homes are being taken and Israelis are occupying them. They cannot improve their conditions under apartheid
comment in response to post
I mean, if we want to go all the way back, Israel took it from the Canaanites. I was referring to more recent history though

Not antisemitic, just anti-genocide/colonialism/apartheid.

comment in response to post
It's Israel's responsibility to deal with their neighbors in a diplomatic way. Not imprison them and deny them basic rights.
comment in response to post
I understand the conflict goes back farther than this, but surely you must have learned this in history. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandate...
comment in response to post
Like I said, I was responding to someone else. The land Israel resides in was taken as part of the mandate.

The sins of the father, huh? Are modern day Palestinians the ones who started all those wars? How are modern day Israelis treating modern day Palestinians? I'm not saying either side is completely innocent, but I am saying that one side is using excessive force / apartheid.
comment in response to post
Thank you! I was responding to someone who thought that the land belongs to modern day Israelites based on the Bible. The situation is much more complex, and I would say the Bible does not guarantee the land to Israel based on the many times God took it from them.
comment in response to post
The fact that Palestinians are currently being treated as less than human is not a conspiracy theory. They are losing their homes to Israel's expansion.

Deuteronomy 29:24-25 ESV [24] all the nations will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land? What caused the heat of this great anger?’ [25] Then people will say, ‘It is because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord..."

I see that you speak for God now. I would encourage you to read Isaiah again. God took the land away more than once due to Israel's disobedience. There's no reason He won't do so again.
comment in response to post
Yeah, my point wasn't that Americans were perfect. Just pointing out that rebelling against an oppressor does not make someone an animal
comment in response to post
They are denying basic rights to Palestinians today. It is an apartheid state already. Next it will be Nazi control.
comment in response to post
Friend, I know the Bible quite well. The land was taken from them several times because they did not uphold the covenant. Today they are definitely not caring for the sojourners, so God has every right to take away the land again.
comment in response to post
That is a wild takeaway. Let's say I wanted to make improvements in our current government to end genocide, how should I go about it? Well assuming I'm not ready to start a revolution, I would probably have to get elected as one of the two major parties. That doesn't mean I support genocide
comment in response to post
You know that's not what I meant. Israel today is just a step or two away from putting Palestinians in concentration camps. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Trump's win leads to that end.
comment in response to post
Were Americans animals when they dumped tea in the harbor and started a revolution? I'm not going to pretend I know exactly what it's like to live there, but when you treat people horribly, you get horrible results.

While I'm not familiar with every Republican, I know of several Democrats that are strongly against the current situation in Gaza. I even mentioned previously that Republicans held Ukraine aid hostage. I don't think they are both equally at fault
comment in response to post
Israel has turned Palestine into an apartheid state and is taking their land. There are checkpoints with turrets and curfew that prevent Palestinians from getting groceries or getting medical care. youtu.be/NqK3_n6pdDY?...
comment in response to post
I take issue with your word "equally". Republicans required aid for Israel in order to aid Ukraine - they revel in genocide and making money for contractors. Trump especially wants to end things - not slow apartheid style genocide, but final and lethal elimination. They are not equal.
comment in response to post
More Palestinians will die / be driven from their homes because Trump is in office. I hope all of you who voted for him or refused to vote are happy about that.
comment in response to post
He wants the conflict to be over by the time he takes office. If he is serious about that, then there's only one way to end conflict that quickly, and it involves bombs
comment in response to post
I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I'm saying Trump plans to escalate the violence and bloodshed to give Netanyahu what he wants as quickly as possible. Harris may have slowed the transfer of arms to Israel
comment in response to post
Before we get into holding people accountable, can you tell me who was more likely to make the situation worse - Trump or Harris? Keep in mind Trump has spoken highly of Netanyahu and says he wants the conflict over by the time he takes office
comment in response to post
Also, Trump is unquestionably going to make the situation worse for Palestinians. I understand the sentiment, but more Palestinians will die now than if Harris had won.

Historically, that hasn't been the best way to reach people for Christ
comment in response to post
Now, I have analyzed the two parties and come to the conclusion that the policies of the dems are better for people, and the false gospel seen in the reps is untenable. The culture war issues (trans) are all about making lost people behave a certain way...

I'm not presenting politics as an alternative to faith. I'm saying that God has commissioned me as Gideon to tear down the idol in my own backyard - I live in a Midwest red state. A pastor at a local church recently said that if all Christians voted in 2020, the results would have been different...
comment in response to post
Fair enough. I'm also angry, but I feel God has called me to channel my anger into trying to reach people with the truth. Trump, if he does a fraction of the things he says, will kill more people than the 400k+ people he killed in his first term, and worse he is leading people to hell

My brother in Christ, I don't have any live TV. I get all my news through reading articles. If we all turned off 24hr news, we would all be better off.

Most people are misinformed / frustrated with high prices which are due to corporations seeking higher profits. For misinformation, Google trends for the following terms spiked after voting was over: "Project 2025", "tariff", "Did Biden drop out?" Our electorate was not well informed

Trump is a horrible businessman and a known criminal. Even as far back as the 80's Australia refused to let him build because of connections to organized crime. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017...

Trump has also bragged about sexually assaulting women, said he would have sex with his daughter if they weren't related, has bragged about walking in on teenage girls in dressing rooms prior to beauty pageants... Democrats aren't perfect, but Trump as our president is a scar and shame upon the US
comment in response to post
3rd, no one is pushing for open borders, but in my reading of the OT, it seems that Christians should be more willing to let in foreigners. 4th, idk who is promoting sex trafficking, but we do know that Trump was good friends with Jeff Epstein and had only good things to say about Ghislaine Maxwell

And you say you've not been subjected to propaganda.... 1st, let's remind ourselves that if the Bible is against abortion, it is only after at least ~8 weeks based on the passages I mentioned. 2nd, while I'm not a fan of permanent transition surgery, no one is performing said surgery on minors. Other than abortion, what other policies do you think are not immoral? We've already discussed abortion, and hopefully you recognize that there is debate on whether or not it is sinful.

There is literally a Trump branded Bible that Oklahoma schools have required to be in classrooms (because teachers are going to do a great job teaching kids to love Christ if they are forced to) The idolatry is very real, and he revels in it

My pastor managed to land on Romans 16:17-20 in his ~1.5 year study through the book of Romans. Knowing him, there's no way he planned that, but it was so fitting. Perhaps I am more exposed to all of the crazies than you are, but at CPAC one year they literally had a golden statue of Trump...

Hopefully in this discussion you've realized that neither of us are the generalization.
comment in response to post
Fair enough I would say that similarly many, but perhaps not all, reps have "christian" nationalism / blind support for Trump as their religion, hatred/owning the libs as their ideology, and hypocrisy as their morality.
comment in response to post
I believe a vote for Trump was sinful. Based on passages like 2Tim3 and Rom16:17, I am confident that open support (hat & yard signs) for Trump is sinful, but I let the Holy Spirit convict people for their voting.
comment in response to post
And again, a vote for Trump was a vote for continued corruption of Christianity. "Christians" who voted for him show the world that they care more about politics and being in control than they care about following God's Word. I have shared with you that he is leading people away from Christ
comment in response to post
We see wealth redistribution in the OT via the poor tithe and debt forgiveness. The Dem party is also pushing for better access to healthcare, childcare, and they have a better approach to immigration. They are not the "Christian" party by any means, but it seems like the ethical choice
