e.g., "how can we allow these people to raise kids if you're not even allowed to talk about them in the classroom?"

why weren't we talking about this immediately after the DSG shit started? now there's precedent to take this clear, unconscionable psychological damage and instead of it being an argument against classroom bans, you can treat the classroom bans as fixed law and instead turn it against gay parents.

and "oh yeah, parents should be able to opt their kid out of any sex ed" sounds reasonable, but anyone whose soul hasn't been fully eroded by culture war vitriol will agree no kid should be singled out and told their family isn't appropriate for classroom discussion.

i feel like a lot of the passive moderate support/ambivalence for classroom bans comes from people who formally learned about homosexuality when they learned about sex, figured that's an appropriate time for it, and conflate learning about queer people with sex ed.

i don't claim to have my finger on the pulse of anything, but it was baffling to me how much DSG was talked about in the media and i never heard this scenario mentioned. if i was in charge of any outlet's coverage, this would have been the first story/framing i sought out.

Around 2006 I saw high schoolers cover “Dream On” at a church camp talent show.
When they got to the bridge, the singer nodded stoically & his friend ran in and full-force punched him in the crotch.
Kid dropped like a rock, but, crucially *accurately hit the high notes* from the fetal position.

“dack, that sounds dope but i don’t know if i wanna spend eight bucks on your recommendation even tho u reliably have flawless taste in everything”
that’s cool, there is a free prologue that is honestly a killer, satisfying experience in and of itself

even for AI this sucks. those dark shapes in the mall are clearly extending from atop a lamppost, not giant baubles hung from the ceiling. the human using the AI still had to not notice.
replacing jobs with AI isn’t just sacrificing the human element, it’s the rot of not-giving-a-shit setting in.

flames. down the side of my face.
this isn’t some “high school trans athletes” micro-molehill made mountain, this was political messaging because it’s how a LOT of hospitals and practices dealt with how rigidly draconian these laws are.
