Is there a Valkyries Plus-Minus in our future?

I didn’t take the person’s note that way. I took it as: Winning the first three titles was a huge accomplishment and 2022 was a surprising bonus. More than fans could have dreamed of, and that most of us aren’t fooling ourselves into a “championship or bust” mentality

Lasted a bunch of years in era before 3-pointers. Wanted to discourage hacking Wilt and other big guys. The intentional fouls made the game way too slow

Sad, but happy they’re not risking further injury

Love the show no matter what. Even when the Warriors lose. Sigh

Celtics are a terrific team and I’m hoping the Tatum injury isn’t as bad as it looked, but I can’t see them winning a title without him. If you lose an elite talent, you’re screwed

Jimmy Butler and a bunch of second-stringers beat the Twolves starters. Deja vu

Don’t have one, do they?

If Warriors make it past game 5, they’ll be OK. Several days off between games 5 and 6

For the love of god, play Kuminga instead of him right now. Good player, awful slump

And he’s only 22. Crazy if they give up on him

Jordan had his flu game. This is Butler’s tailbone game

Agreed. They called the timeout presumably so they could get the ball at half court. The challenge basically took that away.

It says “since 1966.” Nicklaus got it back then

Good potential for a five-way tie for fourth. Lakers have pretty well sewed up third

So glad you guys did one! Certainly understandable if you hadn’t because of long road trip, back to back, etc., but happy to see it in my queue

Brian Windhorst called them the second seed in the West, so at least they’re tiptoeing closer

That exchange of 3s with Curry, LeBron, him and Reaves was a classic

Warriors are up by a lot. Hope they’re just being cautious

Thanks. I was wondering the same thing. Sigh

Any chance you can have a technical glitch for tonight’s Warriors Plus/Minus podcast? I don’t think anybody will be looking forward to it, including you guys.

Yep. That kind of a night.

Worst game he’s had in a long time.

Also paid off with driving layup by Moody that gave them back the lead and a strip steal by Payton when Knicks had a chance to tie

Hope someone can work their tech magic and recover it. Thanks for trying in any case

Thanks to you and @anthonyvslater.bsky.social for doing these. I really look forward to them. Great stuff!

And Butler wasn’t one of them. Not criticizing him, just pointing to how amazing the statistic is

Obviously could have backfired, but hope it’s a good learning experience. Draymond seeing it as a teaching opportunity

It’s like American Idol season 30 except the winner is brilliant and you’re really cheating yourself if you don’t appreciate that. I agree the rest of the competition is meh, though.

I would tag team him with AOC —two smart people that wouldn’t dish up all the political vanilla that Dems have been serving

Pre-Butler trade, Warriors might have gone 0 for this road trip

As you said, too, so much of this depends on Kuminga. If he can pick up elements of Butler’s game and be anywhere close to the defensive stopper Wiggins was, they could be dangerous. But those are huge ifs, of course

If it helps as background: When I wrote years ago about poker, people told me that gambling is often a more powerful addiction than drugs, tobacco, alcohol, etc., because the potential reward could be life-changing money, not just a temporary high. If you’re sure you can beat the game, you’re hooked

I just wish @bsky.app would let you save other people’s posts. That seems like low-hanging fruit — X and Threads both allow it. Way more cumbersome here. There are lots of posts I’d love to look at later without “liking” them

Disagree with you this time. When the big topic today is Eagles vs. Commanders, sidetracking the discussion to talk about the Raiders could come across as self-absorbed on Brady’s part. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Maybe bring it up on the pregame show and have him weigh in then?
comment in response to

Absolutely agree. Even large news organizations prefer to be cautious. Not worth getting sued over — especially in a case like this, when people can see the video and decide for themselves

Thanks for the heads up, Peter. I hope @sfchronicle.com does the kind of starter pack of Bluesky members on its staff that places like the NYT, LAT and WaPo have already done.

It seemed like one Washington player was not letting the ballcarrier get up, so they stopped the clock briefly. I’m sure that was the reason, whether you agree or not.

One huge advantage @bluesky has over Threads is that people can send private DMs. One huge disadvantage is that journalists can’t easily save posts from others without “liking” them (which looks too much like an endorsement).
Otherwise, it’s just getting critical mass, which takes time.
