@samreich.bsky.social: This round is called "Name that Bird". I will play you a sound of a bird and you tell me what it is. Simple.
@brennanleemulligan.bsky.social: Roseate spoonbill!
Sam: *big sigh* Sorry, Brennan. The answer was Cope's gray.

Conservative voters: We need to capitalism even harder to make everyone richer!
Companies: *outsource work/production to wherever it’s cheapest*
Conservative voters: We need to stop other countries of taking advantage of Americans! I will vote for the hyper capitalist to sort this out!

And just to lose all my credibility: I'm a fan of both ends of the spectrum. Proper Napolitan pizza with a great chewy dough and buffalo mozzarella? Yes, please! But next time, I'll get the cheeseburger pizza from Dominos with stuffed crust.

Growing up media has instilled in me the idea that artichokes and anchovies are gross foods only weird adults could like. Took me 30+ years before I had them on a pizza.

Don’t worry, all of their relationships are platonic.

I’ve been going back to the Darkest Dungeon well (too) many times. Every time I hope that the atmosphere, music, vibes etc. will make it stick, and every time I just wait for numbers to get bigger until a random crit sets me back so much that it’s gruelling to build up again. (478.6h)

Got Torchic (had to look this up, because I’m too old to acknowledge anything beyond Gen 1), wanted the #1, that isn’t even there. This is blatant Bulbasaur erasure!

Does the milk in latte art behave like a cardioid? It originates from a point close to the cup, right? Or do we need some fluid dynamics expertise from @tomrocksmaths.bsky.social to settle this ;)

Just don't think about how old we'll be next year and you'll be fine. I, on the other hand, am embracing my age slowly catching up with my inner curmudgeon.

Feels like we are quickly getting to the point where we need a board game artists association akin to @ttgda.bsky.social.

Has anyone ever seen Larry Bird and Big Bird in the same room? *squints*

Still not sure what to call them. Ideas include:
Starpride
Progressgate
Pridegate
Stargate NB-1

If you are ever brave enough to travel that far south, I'll show you one of the best places in "all of London" - The Ludoquist. You can test your German against my hodgepodge of German accents over a board game and drinks.

Only realised when a friend I hadn't seen in ages told me to drop the weird Austrian slant. XD
I also happen to live in Croydon. And while I would have refuted the jokes 10 years ago, in an act of tragic irony, it now has "earned" its reputation for me.

We got:
Beige
Dark beige
Blue beige
Red beige
and
Yellow beige
Beige has now reached semantic satiation.

How many Twix have been consumed during the making this video? And can Matt now tell the left and right ones apart?

Difficult choice, but if I were to choose one that focuses more on the noodle part than what the noodles are in part, I'd say zaru soba - cold buckwheat noodles dipped in a soy sauce based sauce. Perhaps the only(?) _refreshing_ noodle dish.

I can add to this: In communications we learned that people engaged in conversations may subconciously start mimicking each others' gestures if they are "in sync" (i.e. in general agreement about the topic discussed). For twins this is probably a daily, if not hourly, occurence and gets amplified.

The Proclaimers. No, wait.
For me it was Tom Jones and every Brit around me was like "You didn't know he's Welsh." Well, excuse me, but does he sing in Welsh? Does he? Exactly.

PlayProp sounds a lot like this game I played growing up. A game from 1955 which predates the supposed original idea by 22 years. Hmm….
