This right here is the biggest challenge trying to get a sick cat to eat or trying to slip meds to a sick cat.. churu is a great tool, but if you have other cats, it’s frustrating trying to play keep away and the sick cat is just massively turned off having everyone in his face

Can you put some carriers in the room (as a permanent fixture) and lure the boys into it with churus and give Joe some private time?

I’m sorry. I hope the vets are able to help him out.

Love this. I’m a huge fan of niwaki also and have been slowly working on some ornamental pines in my yard in hopes to achieve something like it.

I have a feeling it’s going to be market manipulation over and over, a lot of rich people making tons of $ because they’re getting tipped off on announcements.. while the rest of us watch our retirements getting siphoned off..

The problem I have with this idea is that this also means these are not wages that will be contributing towards social security or Medicare, meaning a lot of these folks might see a little bump now, but find there won’t be anything coming to them when they need it most later

Manufacturing companies have been automating people out of jobs for decades. The mistake people are making is misunderstanding that onshoring the facilities again means job. No Companies will do just about anything to avoid having to pay the ongoing costs of wages and benefits to employees.

That was the most constipated swing I think I’ve ever seen.

Let me sniff around. One I know is down in FL and the other does go to shows here. I know we’ve gone to one of their houses before and picked trees up, so they’re mostly just operating out of their homes..
comment in response to post
I know a couple vendors we work with that typically sell at cat shows that make trees out of solid wood. We have several that have lasted for years.

This is really pretty!

They’re out already. Money sitting in safe havens. Cratering the market was the plan all along. Fed will drop interest rates, they’ll buy in at the bottom, use cheap credit and buy up all the assets and businesses from the rubble.

Folks are stuck on “told ya so”, which is pointless. Overwhelmingly, people don’t acknowledge mistakes even when there are dire consequences, especially when they have tied their identity to the path they’ve chosen. That goes for everyone on both sides of this, apparently.

I’d love to see it. It has a bit of an art deco vibe going on, which I love

All of them have color? All of them are pictures posted by Neil?

This though. You can’t compare the cost of all these ingredients needed to make a pizza to one premade slice because they’re not equivalent. There’s enough of most of the ingredients to go on to make several other meals in addition to the several more slices you now have from the full pizza.

I can’t think of any other business where it’s considered acceptable to pay for a service and not actually receive what you paid for.

I’ve given up trying to make sense of people. Personally, I’ll be sticking with old fashioned “dumb” appliances that I don’t need to plug quarters into
comment in response to post
If you’re lucky, your new subscription-driven appliance will be more like (annoying) printers and not like (randomly exploding) Teslas. Best have your subscription up to date on your fire extinguisher..
comment in response to post
It’s going to get worse. Wait until they start transitioning to subscription services for appliance functionality

I dunno if this might help, but I dig around in their site and got to a customer support page. If you pick ordering and then buying online from the dropdown below, you get options including a live chat: global.oup.com/academic/con...

Have you tried contacting them to see if they might be willing to send a copy?

Welcome to my world. Every time the kittens are out in the livingroom and it gets silent, I have to go check because there is a 19473937927393% chance they are getting into something

I literally do not understand why people do this.

Gotcha. So really, it might just be the lighting in the pics. Look at her nose leather and if that’s black black, she may be black/red, if it’s a bit lighter, she may be blue/cream. Seeing her in this second pic and from your comment, she definitely looks pointed.

(I just realized you mentioned tortoiseshell in your description. Oops)
comment in response to post
They are really pretty, btw
comment in response to post
Look to be tortoiseshell, so if that’s the case, both of the parents would also have had to carry at least one copy of the non-agouti (solid) gene as well.
comment in response to post
That said, just answering your question as presented, both pointed and dilute are recessive traits, so if both cats are dilute and pointed, both parents would have had to carry at least one copy of the gene. At least one of the parents (either) would have carried red. Both of the pics also (1/2)
comment in response to post
Are these the girls? I don’t see dilute here, they look black/red. Are they older? I would not have guessed pointed, but for the eye color. Pointed expression is temperature dependent, however, so would be most obvious in very young cats and the coat would darken with age.
comment in response to post
I have wondered if the litter was possibly dumped nearby, given I have not ever heard Neil mention any other ferals in the area other than Joe, who could not have been the dad.
comment in response to post
Correct; if I had to take a guess, mom was probably a red, tortoiseshell or patched tabby with no white (bicolor and white are dominant). Given the entire litter was red, she may have been red herself.
comment in response to post
Mom would have had to have some red on her. and dad would have been red. The boys would get their red coloration from their mom. White Tip could only have been fully red if she got red from both parents. (Red only exists on the X chromosome. Boys get one, from mom; girls get one from each parent.
