There needs to be a social network built around the concept of continued engagement as a requirement for retaining connections. So much of Facebook has become this sort of social trophy case - a modern-day taxidermy room of friends and acquaintances, of years - and versions of oneself - long past.

Every other fucking month, some entirely-US company is announcing “Sowwy, we accidentally leaked your SSN/purchase history/entire fucking medical record to the dark web. Here’s a $5 Starbucks gift card to make it up to you!” And the fuckstains in DC never hold them accountable.
