I like to think there's a little something for everyone here. There isn't, but I can think what I want.

Strong evidence that Trump is a liar with cognitive impairment, this is all I've been able to think about since yesterday, when I was born.

dude this party is such an echo chamber. it's just friends hanging out and chilling and having a good time. you need to invite some people over who want to kill you with hammers

The thing is you look at Pulp song titles and roll your eyes like ok yeah Jarvis is love good is it. But you listen to it a few times and you're like shit he's not wrong though you DO got to have love

'All of his problems.'

Tomorrow is the big day: Rachel Reeves announces how much gov departments have to spend over the next 3 years. This is a critical moment for public services like the NHS, police & schools. But what's the *starting point* for services? Team IfG takes a look at performance and it's not pretty: 🧵

and have learned how to hold a grudge.

I'm trying to work out what the healthy alternative to putting loads of cheese on stuff is and I've concluded it's just "sadness."

I briefly worried that this moment of aggressive suppression of speech and protest might undermine my writing on free speech where I characterise the whole debate as a bad faith weaponisation of “free speech” talking points to conduct a culture war against the progressive left, but: nope still true

It’s deeply sinister to hate Greta Thunberg like some do, there’s so much wrong with it I don’t know where to start

I’m actually genuinely quite surprised at how negative the response is to the protests in LA. The ICE people are being nakedly lawless. The President is being nakedly fascist. And a bunch of people who didn’t vote for Trump are for all intents and purposes on his side. Very very weird behavior!

Yes but what you've got to remember is that some students sometimes got over-zealous about encouraging inclusive language and that's where it all went wrong.

“This could poll well with midterm swing voters in Ohio” I remark sagely as I watch a fourth grader get bundled into an unmarked van at recess by armed and masked agents of the state.

there is no such thing as unskilled labour

I've said it before: the constitution of the United States of America is fundamentally a gentleman's agreement, and all the gentlemen are dead

Sometimes life feels futile, like nothing you can do will ever make a difference. But... The UK has a blood shortage right now. If you're eligible to donate, you could literally save someone's life in less than an hour. www.blood.co.uk/news-and-cam...

Efficiency is when you make the troops homeless *before* they're veterans

Yes. Exactly like that.

Yes YES The foxes are occupying Google.

they never miss

a cunk chair where I watch my wife and another man watch her shows and laugh really hard

i'm running for president in 2028 on a single-issue platform: outlawing the public usages of both "the ick" and "neurospicy". five year mandatory minimum. i'll wing the rest.

I’m 85% sure this guy was the local Reform candidate at the last election.

My daughter told my wife she was going to cut up some strawberries for her. Meet The Strawbster:

reading this otherwise v interesting piece on intimacy coordinators and I'm sorry but this does just feel like another example of "whoops we're so woke we've reinvented old timey racism by mistake" www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

I miss what Twitter was. Too much of my adult life - work, friends, partners - has been bound up in it not to. But that Twitter doesn't exist any more. *Twitter* doesn't exist any more, and X is a hellhole and even if I could put up with that it'd suck because most people I want to talk to are here.

I don’t care if people are mad at him, he’s just the best out there.

"Nobody’s going to spit on our police officers," says Trump, who four months ago pardoned people who beat police officers with pipes, flagpoles, baseball bats and 2-by-4s at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

At no point in this entire article of 16 paragraphs does ABC mention that another cop killed this cop by shooting her in the back. Nor does it mention the name of the cop who killed this cop. Nor does it mention that the civilians involved never fired at them. ABC might as well be state media.

My wife handed me a clean towel and asked me to “put it in its place.” So, I looked at it and said, “Don’t forget that you’re only a towel,” and I was reminded yet again of just how lucky this woman was to be married to me.

As I scroll through my pictures folder I stumble across THIS again and I can only imagine what it must have been like in the office when someone came up with it. Presumably that person got carried through the streets in celebration afterwards.

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at our phones

Sheep absolutely ruining this for me

"In 1642 in the town of Lemgo, Germany, local pharmacist David Welman was accused of witchcraft and being a werewolf. Anonymous hate mail was sent to him, one of which included this sketch."

leftist police departments like the LAPD

Yes. I have heard this from both liberal and conservative people with sources inside the agency. It’s not just the pushback, it’s also that many officers want to believe they’re targeting the “bad guys” and this admin is telling them “screw you, grab families.” Genuinely, morale is way down.

They're going to be playing this match deep in to the 2030s aren't they.

Sinner of course an especially good name for the relentless "no escape from Alcaraz" quips.

Alcaraz you mad bastard. Are you not knackered by now.

not really sure why a piece of 'analysis' hyping up the performance of a party that came third in a Holyrood by-election needs to be pushed to millions of phones across the UK

I… huh? What are the police firing back at

It's more like 3 in 100 people in the UK depending on how you define it and exactly for which population, as detailed in this study. www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...
