I did not think I would ever say this but I want them to slow down. I will want multiples of the terrain and the commons. Coming right after the August release is tough.

It reminds me of Trails of Tucana which you know is one of my favorites

I am embarrassed to say I did not know you were a game designer and worse you designed a game I have been enjoying since 2008. I followed you because of you playing games with Ukrainian refugees. I will say that Pioneer Rails looks like my type of game.

You should go see Atlanta United. They have a roof. Seriously, the games are fun to watch.

But what if they land near your house? You could be their first contact. I like thinking about how that would turn out.

hen I started in the hobby my favorite publisher was based on the games they made. Now it is based on the people. Jamie from Stomemaier is a good example. I really like him as a person and while I don’t buy everything he makes, I will look at everything he makes.

I am surprised you have not played this. I would have guessed some of your games were informed by this game.

Styx was my favorite growing up. Which cd did you pick up?

(b) is so critical. I explain the tone of the game more than the rules before we play.

I have actually never played Lifeboat but I have played Lifeboats tons of time. I rarely win because I am seen as a threat. But I do enjoy negotiating people off a boat. Says something about both of us.

I have the original lifeboats. Does that count?

I love Lake Como. Going there next year again but this time for my daughter’s wedding.

Heresy! You need all the Clank! games and all the expansions. Ok you are right but I do like most all of them.

Follow up on this. Turns out that Sarah Isgur lives next to Talia Rosen and they were able to sit down and play a prototype of the game. Based on the episode, it seems Sarah liked it a good bit. #fortcircle.bsky.social

Great Heroscape article as always. I did not know about early release. As for old promos, I just got a 3d printer and I am printing the out of print figures and terrain I don’t own.

Never played this one but I love Domaine which looks very similar

Since I own and have upgraded my old copy and have not played it in 5 years, I don’t think I will pick the new one up. One question: are the planets the same size and are they in the same locations?

Will it be a quarter, half dollar, or silver dollar by end of year?

I started listening at episode 3. Back then it was easy to go back listen to all the past episodes. Hard to believe some of us have been with you for 20 years. We have never met but one day I hope we do. It would be great to say thank you in person.

My all time favorite

Lots of overlaps in our solo plays last year

In the early 2000 they started to add additional meta data on cds which might cause this issue. More likely is the laser is getting weak over the years and most cds will play but some would not if the cd is too far off of spec for the reader to handle the errors.
comment in response to post
Interesting. I own a good number of cds and I have had a good number of players over the years and I have never experienced this. How old is your cd player? Any player made after 2000 should play all cds.

Pirates of Maracaibo was a hit for me. I am very much looking forward to the expansion.

Looking forward to it. I wonder if you will put any surprises on there that I am not already anticipating being on you list.

2004 but happy to play any year

I am playing it through with 3 players which is a very good number for this game IMO. The combat system is amazing and really forces cooperative play. Story of course is amazing and drives the players actions. Weakest part is the town actions but they are short.

I had two dimes this year. That is a lot for me. One was Civolutions and the other was Kinfire Chronicles. Every year I find at least one game that deserves 10 plays. I wonder what game that will be this year.

Wow user #5. I did not find out about BGG until 2006 so I don’t have the first two years badges. So I still feel like a newbie.

A big influence on my odd sense of humor. “Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.”

Hi Eric. Did not know you were here. So here is a belated welcome.

Never heard of this one, but you are known for posting about games I have never heard of before.

That is a great deal

It does say Ground Forces in the Marketing so Ogre-ish is possible. Or maybe like Monsterpocalypse where you alternate activations between your monster and your army.
comment in response to post
Why don’t I live closer to you? I would not need convincing.
comment in response to post
I give you all the credit. Question I have is with the title change from Master to Monster does that limit what kind of units we will see.

I own and love this one. At one point I was collecting all games about Easter Island. I since gave up but I still own this one.

Mine was given to me by my older brother who could do no wrong in my mind so I was predisposed to love it.

Do you know why Schmidt stopped the Easy Play line? I use to always at least try each game on that line.

That is such a thoughtful gift.

I still like Hershey’s but I find it hard to find good chocolate in the US that is not very expensive. Every time I go to Europe I pick up some. The quality and the price is better. Also, the portions are much smaller, the perfect size piece IMO.

Hi Aldie. Long time not see. Hope all is well with you.

Back in the old days before Discord and Bluesky there would be large gaps where I would wonder if you still alive or if you were going to release another episode. The surprise of when an episode would drop is exciting but I also enjoy the consistency of a weekly podcast.

My kind of solo game. I tend to play two handed because I don’t want to learn a second game. For me a good solo option just means the game will get means more plays.
comment in response to post
I don’t know of any but I do know one that I think never had two episodes on consecutive weeks. 😎 @boardgamestogo.bsky.social
