I'm afraid he's always going to be Pope Bob to me ...

"If you have any young friends who aspire to become writers, the second greatest favor you can do them is to present them with copies of The Elements of Style. The greatest, of course, is to shoot them now while they're happy." -- Dorothy Parker #booksky #writers

For Independent Booksellers Day I visited Book Moon in Easthampton, Mass. I left them with signed copies of "Den of Thieves" and "The Long Game" on consignment. It's a nice little store and they're giving away No Nazis stickers.

Did some yard work today. It looked sort of like those yard work videos on Facebook ... but without the 20 minutes of Youtube video showing the rest of the work. My treebelt doesn't need a weedwhacker yet, but it did need mowing. Tomorrow: Rain and indoor work.

So this just happened ... A planet 120 light years away -- K2-18b -- about 2.6 times as big as earth, in its star's habitable zone, has dimethyl sulfide in its atmosphere. They say it is only produced by living organisms and breaks down quickly, so it has to be replenished continuously.

In 1979, when NBC was casting a new lead for its revival of "Buck Rogers," Buster Crabbe showed up. He was Buck Rogers AND Flash Gordon when he was younger. Now he was 70 years old. "I run 5 miles and swim 1 mile every morning. I'm ready to go," he told them. #sciencefiction

The robin in my yard was back yesterday, looking for more worms. Last year, there were a lot of them and they lived at the other end of the street. The one in my yard is the only one I've seen this year and Molly and I walk around the block every morning before breakfast, so I would have seen them.

So I was watching "Willow" and they kept saying it starred Val Kilmer (no one really knew him then). I figured they meant the dwarf, because it was HIS story. When I heard they were casting Kilmer as Jim Morrison in a biopic, my first thought was: "Isn't he too short for that?"
